Guys let's not try to blame Villanov  for playing smart and hard. We cant shoot and I dont care how much you hustle, there's no substitute for putting the ball in the basket. There's a reason they call it the charity stripe.

Key to the second half — we need to get Mathis some open looks from outside.  /media/kunena/emoticons/w00t.png
Coburn was off but get him back in there early in this half.  Maybe he can heat up.  Mathis is a lost cause.

Three second violation suspended when Nova has the ball.

If you're Stanley you can't be a tough guy and wanna fight then badly miss both of your free throws.  Now they know they are getting under your skin and going to foul you some more because you can't shoot.

You gotta make your free throws but I love the toughness from him. Didn’t think it was a malicious foul but still showing he’s not gonna back down.
Every Nova foul is a malicious foul.

To be fair we are one of the ‘handsiest’ teams in the country. They could call a foul on us pretty much every possession.
Our fouls are incidental contact. Their fouls are purposely malicious and meant to intimidate and could cause injury. Totally different perspective.

There comes a point where philosophy of "take the shot if you have a good look" should not apply to Mathis.

Each 3 he takes, he should loose 3 min of playing time

These 1st five minutes are huge. MSG looking to come alive for us. Need to give them a reason. Need supporting cast to step up. A run out dunk or back door alley oop will help.

I hope are bigs don’t put the ball on the floor in close.  Just shoot or dunk.

Gillespie and Moore are 50% at best.  This game is ripe for the taking.  Need to have big halves from Champy and Wheels and we can win this.

And you know this how?

After the first half I’ll take a few layups and a soft hook shot

I’m really impressed with how much Wheeler has improved.  He’s the third scorer we need.  With a healthy Posh and Champ playing well plus some rebounding, we can beat anybody in the conference on a given night.

We have plenty of deficiencies, but I’ve been encouraged by Wheeler and to a lesser degree Soriano (excluding tonight). Unfortunate time for Posh to get injured.

Nova guards are masterful pushing their way into the paint and getting off good shots against bigger defenders.

We simply don’t have the requisite  talent to be a big dog right now. We work hard, coaching is solid etc.  cma and crew need to land more kids with real talent at this level.  Great game, close game, but talent is the and will be the difference down the stretch this season.  We certainly have some talent, but ours is developed as neither posh nor Champs were super  highly recruited.  Not sure how we get to that next level but sooner or later we have to.

I’ve been saying this for weeks. Give me shooters any day above anything else. The object of the game is to put the ball in the basket. You don’t get points for anything else.

We got to hit our free throws and let champagne and wheeler get their shots What happen to our guards who can’t make any shots.?We are not using our opportunities to win this game.
