I'm not gonna start ripping cma but will say one thing.

If he continues to recruit 2/3 star players, he's guaranteed to fail in the B.E.

I'm fine playing man versus Marquette being they can shoot. But I hate the constant doubling and overplaying of the dribbler/driver. It leaves us vunerable if we can't tiny over the ball handler or get back to contest the shot whenever the driver passes it.
Its not the players. This is mike andersons d. You double the 1st chance u get and if the double isnt successful(which most times it isnt because these are d1 basketball players and they can handle double teams) it leaves a guy wide open.

Any team that can shoot is going to love playing st johns.
I agree that it's ultimately on the coach, but with CMA's defense he teaches guys to make smart decision and trust his players on when and when not to double, he doesn't tell them to double every time like that. His system is based mostly on players having freedom to make plays and make those decisions... with that said one thing that frustrates me about CMA has got to do is when he sees guys aren't making smart decisions he's gotta get them outta the game or simply tell that person they aren't allowed to double anymore.

If we don't turn Marquette over more than we've done so far, we have no chance to beat them. I'll be happy if we adjust enough to stop the wide open threes the rest of the way.

He was hired in April....what more did you expect from him?!?!?

He started a thread for this immediately after this season’s Midnight Madness ended. Of course, it’s locked.

Got it down to a deuce. Hopefully, the kid for Marquette blows these freebies. I'd love to finish off this rally.
blaming the coach for this year’s performance is as off target as our worst shooting nightmare
Haha, I don't think anyone is blaming CMA for everything, I know I wasn't trying to in my post, because I know and I've seen before with my own eyes what his teams can do when he gets a roster full of his guys. He has about 3-4 guys on this roster that fit what he's trying to do from what I've seen. But as the head coach some of the blame does go on him to adjust.

Stop already!
You guys turn on dime. Maybe coach Wojo has his outside offense well drilled AND he has outside shooters like Marcus Howard.

Good thing for us is we've managed to stay out of foul trouble (other than Rutherford) and are rebounding better last few minutes. We are right in this one if we can keep Howard from going off.
