Like the 2 freshman
Smith, Wheeler and Coburn going to struggle against good comp

Coburn and Smith need to play in a half court offensive system that actually has an objective and a purpose where they can get some open looks. Play inside out with Soriano , do something other than pass the ball on the perimeter.

agree.  Stanley and Soriano at the 4/5.  We gotta play inside-out and those 2 have to be a part of that.  Stanley should move into starting PF.

Jackson-Davis obviously hurt us, but the Bates contribution killed us. Nothing from Wheeler,  Coburn and Smith makes for a long night.

I really thought Stef Smith would be a lot better.

Good shooter.  Not a very high level athlete nor passer.  Good shooter.  Kinda guy that should be a shooter off the bench.

He won’t be effective until we have an effective half court offense where we actually have some offensive sets designed to get him , Coburn and Champ open looks

We can’t continually blame the refs.  Blaming them is a cover up for our poor play.

Pinzon and Stanley definitely held their own, but we're gonna need way more then 2 freshmen holding their own if we're gonna hope to beat good teams like Indy.

We are only down 12, Posh barely played and Champs played like garbage.  Amazing we are still in it.  We gotta adjust and can’t keep getting games by Indiana, who is actually a pretty good team.  We just have to play smarter and not turn it over for dunks and leave open 3’s.

Champagnie didn’t play poorly

He played VERY poorly.  This kid is a pre-season All American.  His counterpart is destroying us. Champ had to do more than just take open 3’s from the logo.  He’s gonna be able to post-up etc.

well, not when we had a simple foil that they ejected our player for.  That was absurd.

Sloppy TO's, Posh minimal action, not playing great. 12 pt lead can definitely be erased. I also dislike this IU squad.

Need to stop these cross court passes. We are predictable with it. Soriano, wheeler, and Stanley just need to be solid with TJD. He is an all American big. He is gonna be a handful for anyone. Force him right and not let him catch in the paint. Feel like we are 1 run away. Losing Mathis is tough but coburn needs to step up. Gotta attack and get to the line. We lucked out with cheap bonus fouls.

If we played mediocre rather than terrible I think we’d be tied or close to it.

that’s the only reason I’m tuning into the 2nd half.

Our defense also leaves a lot to be desired. Way too many open threes for IU. This is the problem with CMA’s defensive system, it takes half a season to learn it.

Will posh make it to 15 minute mark before picking up his 3rd?

I am not ready to make any sweeping statements based on one half of basketball.  Team came out tight and made a lot of mistakes because of that.

Posh and Champ were not good, and we know that won't be the case in general, and you need your stars to star if you're gonna win a road game against a good team.

Stanley and Pinzon showed that they will be players at this level.  So did Wusu, but we knew that. Those three and Stef Smith all came ready to play and the moment wasn't too big for them.

Soriano played exactly as expected.  He contributed but mobile, skilled bigs are not what he's going to excel against.  That's fine.

Wheeler justified Monte's skepticism this far, but the jury remains out (for me anyway) since it's only one half.

Indiana's defense is absolutely rock solid, if you like defense you have to appreciate what they're doing. The refs are of course terrible.

Let's see if Coach rights the ship for the second half - we've seen bigger comebacks than this would be.

Need Julian to play within himself, no hero ball please.

Posh needs to play until fouling out.  We need him out there.  Give it to Pinzon if we don’t make it that far.

It doesnt matter.  You cant sit him anymore.  If he fouls out, he fouls out.  We cant afford to have him on the bench no matter what.
