The one fear I had this year was supporting cast hitting shots when they don't we will mightily struggle this year.

That Connecticut team is scrappy. Every time I think we’re going to put them away they fight back. Give them credit.

It doesn’t seem like we can stop the dribble penetration and we lose position on defense covering a lot.
They were a bit lucky too.
Fig was off the first ten minutes. It isnt a smooth show like last game but we will prevail easily enough I think.

Shot selection in first half was not as good as first game. I expect SJU is going to win but things to work on are easier to point out after this one.

So you’re saying that the first half was “10 minute of hell” and 10 minutes of “what the hell we doing”?

That should leave only 5 minutes of “what the hell we doing” for the second half... ;-)

Too many 3s. Half hour in. Again Williams and Sears lacking. When shots are not falling, drive to the basket.

Len Elmore said since he only lived a half hour from SJU he use to play pick up games at Alumni Hall against such SJU players as John Warren, Billy Paultz and Dan Cornelius when he was in high school at Power

He said, he was going to go to St. John's but Coach Carnesecca left to go to the Nets and that opened the door for the University of Maryland.

Said he did play at SJU when Power beat Molloy in the Catholic High School Championship game

Never heard that story before.

And yet without 2 potential starting caliber guys in Steere and Dunn. Not so bad...
