As 'fun' as it is....it's pretty useless. Teams don't play enough common opponents, and the strength of schedule isn't taken into account. For example, had we played Michigan State's schedule, we would probably be right around 5-4.

What? At worst, we'd be 7-2. They've played 2 strong teams and one question mark in ND.

Duke and Kansas are losses.....and I think we lose at Notre Dame. And then I also think it's very possible we lose to one of our 'lesser' opponents, which would more than likely be Marquette. There's your 4 losses....

Marquette is down to 8 scholarship players. They play like St. John's Lite in terms of personnel and style of play. Probably the least dangerous BE team

I'm not so certain we lose to this KU team, but let's put that aside for now. If we didn't lose at Cuse, I don't know why we'd lose at ND. If we haven't lost to our lesser opponents, I don't know why we would have lost to their lesser opponents.

This is the dumbest debate ever. How many losses would we have on another random teams scheudle. Who cares. We are 6-1 on ours. The big east has challenged itself well and has the second best record in the nation. Deal with it.

Jack, eventually you will realize that not everyone who post on this site is happy that we are doing well so far this year. I am not sure of the reason, but some only post when they have something negative to say.
I am very happy the way this year has started and the fact that the Big East teams are playing well. I also understand that all our team only has control over the games they play. I look for continued improvement and am hoping for a successful season.
Going to be in Carnesecca tonight cheering for the REDMEN !!!!!

Lol. Fair enough. Maybe I should have jumped in on your debate about mid season transfers instead and whether or not they get to sit on the bench in Maui. That was much more interesting

I'm with you about our early season success and that of the BE. I'm also looking forward to tonight's game and the team continuing to grow.

…and all this talk about being happy how well the league is doing only goes so far for me. I don't care what it means for rpi or the tourney or anything, I always wanted uconn, 'cuse, and g'town to lose. Embarrassingly. I now can root for all the BE teams to do well. Except g'town. I hope they lose every game they play by 40. :)

I don't fault you for trying to humor the guy who posted we would be 5-4 with Michigan states record. You were just trying to show that our team is good enough no matter what schedule we play, and I applaud you for that.

But the whole premise of this debate is a stretch and useless. The big east deserves the second best record. It isn't inflated by playing bad teams. We have winning records against the ACC, SEC, BIG10 collectively as a conference. Whoever started this debate was trying to say the big east 2nd best record is a product of a conference wide cupcake schedule, and it just isn't true. So we just need to be proud of the conference so far and hope they continue to play well.
