Well said.

Do I have to be the jerk who says we should have never been 0-5 to begin with?

I am over that now. Need to play well in the BET. If we don't make the NCAA there will be plenty of months to complain.

I still have a recurring nightmare of the PA announcer introducing Khadim Ndiaye.

Just can't shake it.

Do you really think that Lavin thought that Khadim Ndiaye gave us the best chance to win, or was he trying to tell some of his scholarship players that they'd better start playing, practicing, and studying hard, or they would be watching a lot of basketball? Perhaps they finished 10-8 because Ndiaye started one game, instead of much worse

The man has a lot of stupid hunches that don't come close to panning out . . . but we still made it to 20 wins and the BET is at the Garden. Hopefully we get three wins, two minimum, and are able to move on from this underwhelming regular season.

Very interesting point, although I think there are more constructive ways to fire up a team.

Or maybe we finish 11-7.

there are a bunch of games I'd like to have back. For me, the most painful was the home loss vs. Providence that we handed to them. Then after we fought all the way back, not beating either Villanova or Xavier with our backs to the wall hurt a lot. Those could have been worse, because at 8-6, they worked so hard to position themselves for 11-7 and a bid.

Most painful were Syracuse and Nova at "home'" listening to their fans cheer in our arena. Win either of those 2 and we are dancing regardless of Providence and DePaul losses.

One thing about being a St. John's fan. there are plenty of choices to pick your pain from :)

ill be that jerk....to say we have come a long way is hilarious. we're still a bubble team, who has underachieved.

Lets get two wins next week...

You really don't see finishing 10-8 in the BE as coming a long way from starting 0-5? I don't know about you, but with an 0-5 start I was envisioning a 6-12 season at best. To me, our last 13 games have been a marked improvement over our first five.

no hope, nice post. We sometimes forget these are young men playing and not multi-million dollar professionals.

Coach Lavin with another 20 win season. That's 2 out of three years coaching St. John's.
Let's be realistic. The year he only coached 4 games and Dunlap coached the rest even john Wooden would not have won 20 with (5 frosh and 6 schoolie players total) so it is 2 out of 4 years.
