Francessa Hammers Nova for mobing the court

I once saw Francessa storm a Taco Bell. The aftermath wasn't pretty.

I was thinking along the same lines: that the only thing he ever stormed was the concession stand at halftime. (As for me, I now storm the men's room at halftime -- and sometimes before and after.)

Certainly had no problem with Miami fans storming the court tonight after humiliating Duke. If I were there, I would've stormed the floor myself.

And kudos to Jim Larranaga (a playground legend in my old neighborhood in the Bronx) for the job he's done. The man can coach with the best of them.

According to a lot of people who post on this site, Villanova is a terrible team and losing in OT to them was the dagger in our season. This terrible team goes out and beats the 5th ranked team in the country: let them storm the court, you know, because they're a terrible team.

Larranaga has really done a great job there. Wish a C7 school scooped him up.

Coach Larranaga is of American Cuban dissent with root in the Miami area which lead him to accept the UMiami job after rejecting many high profile offers after his Final Four appearance. He is a Providence College grad so many anticipated he would move to PC but opted to stay at George Mason until the 'Canes came a calling.

I had the opportunity to see Miami play in person and he reminded of Beilein where a coach really does make a team better. He has a guard Shane Larkin that is a very- very good player. Shane is the son of baseball great Barry Larkin.

Sometimes you storm the floor after a sudden last second victory; doesn't always have to happen after upsetting a ranked team. Can't forget Lou Roethel's hook shot just beyond the foul line to help the Redmen squeak out a one point victory over the University of UTAH at the infamous Holiday Festival.

Yes, Nova is going through a down cycle right now but they are three years removed from a Final Four.

And I hated Miami's court storming as well. When you're up 30 points most of the game it seems forced to be that excited at the outcome that your moved to storm the court. The people who stormed were just waiting around to be on TV.

And it might seem like I hate court storming, but in fact, I love it. I just think it's over done now. It seems that every night on SportsCenter there is one or two court stormings.

Postell.....that was complete sarcasm in response to the over-the-top nonsense that took part on this board after our overtime loss in Philly earlier this month.

It is over done. No question.

But Miami barely in the Top 25 beat the #1 team in the nation. And Duke. And smoked them.

They should storm the court twice for that.

I agree with Moose. Anytime you beat a highly ranked Duke team, especially as the one ranked team in the country, you storm the court. God, I hate that team. I respect K but I cant stand that uniform.

Fordham stormed the court when we blew that big lead a couple of years ago early in the season in their gym. At that point we still sucked so I was like, gee, that's overdone.

But whatever subjectively defines a big win in college is what makes it great. I particularly hate it when students who barely show up the whole season storm the court for a big win, when they haven't dealt with the other side of the emotion, losing games and still showing up, etc.

Beast- I think you referred to Fordham in your response. Can't tell with the quoting being messed up so apologies if it wasn't you. The reason they stormed was they came back from over 20 down twice. We were up 20 they trimmed it to 6, we got it back to 20 and they came back and won it. Pretty sure. Local rival. Crazy game. Also we didn't suck at that point. Bonnies loss was next game I think. It was storm worthy in my mind.

Ah sorry for that. Thanks for trying to find my post. This site has gotten really lagged past few days - maybe a sign of interest? Ok, I'd agree with you and correct myself on the Fordham game, which I thought was early in Lavin Year 1. Coming back from 20 is reason enough.

That being said, that type of excitement from fans is what makes college bball great.

Yup...Nova really sucks.

BTW: Horrible coaching down the stretch by Boeheim. Takes the ball out of Triche's hands the last 3 minutes of regulation and then sits on 3 of his TOs.
