Fox Sports1 sucking wind...giving away advertising

I think at some point they're going to have to pony up the money to buy a better location on the "dial". Each cable provider is different, but if they move next to ESPN, TBS, TNT etc they will see much better ratings.

I think you are right about that. The branding is also very inconsistent and not intuitive when you are channel surfing. Directv has this Sports mashup channel now which is useful. It is in the low 200s where ESPN is.

Is Foxsports near ESPN on Dish? I didn't know that. On my cable (Time Warner) it's channel 774, boxed between CSPAN 1, 2 and 3 and The Weather Channel.
For comparrison ESPN, MSG, SNY are 725-727.
I'm not in the tv business, but it does seem intuitive that location is a big factor in tv ratings.

Fox1 is also on 123 on Time Warner in between the Golf channel and NBCSpts. If you are a college basketball fan you will find your channel and put it in favorites.

I watched a lot of the Prov/BC game last night, I liked the production on Fox Sports 1 and Gus and Raf are in mid season form.

Fox Sports and the Big East today formally announced a two-year deal in which Fox will sell the conference's sponsorship assets and broadcast advertising. The two entities will collaborate on sales assets that include presenting sponsorships for all Big East championships, as well as a range of TV and non-TV ad inventory (Fox Sports). Fox is "reporting a robust ad sales market for its slate of Big East men’s basketball games." Other conferences and networks "have similar deals, such as the SEC and ESPN" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/11 issue).

Moose, I guess that debunks Otis' deadspin claims.

No, one has nothing to do with the other. BE Basketball may be selling but there's hours and hours of other stuff they have to sell too. But Fox has lots of money behind it. They're in no kind of trouble. Ain't easy launching a network.

From Cynopsis Sports today-

Good news for FOX. FOX Sports 1 nabbed its most-watched week ever for the week ending Nov. 10, marking highs in both prime time and total day Nielsen numbers. Viewership was bolstered by a network record audience for Oklahoma/Baylor, as well as major UFC and NASCAR events in the schedule. Overall, the channel averaged 630,000 viewers in prime time and 157,000 viewers total day last week surpassing its previous best week from Aug. 26-Sept. 1. That number also beats predecessor SPEED's fourth quarter 2012 averages by 237% in prime and 60% in total day. Oklahoma vs. Baylor on Thursday tallied 2.1 million viewers to rank as the most-watched telecast ever.

That is good news for the network, hopefully they clean up the problems w/ FX2.

I can't even find fx2. I missed half of the league because I forgot there were on this new channel.

Hopefully you can find it by 6:00 PM tonight. Do you have FIOS by any chance because that's what I have and I can find fox sports 2. Let me know cause I'll go find the exact channel number and tell you if you need it. It's hard to find because its non-HD. Which needs to change

It's channel 198. You can pretend it's the 1980's and Chris Mullin is roaming the court because that's how the picture looks.
