As we all know, given current circumstances, colleges are in a financial bind (some worse than others).
I guess they don't want to write a check to a basketball coach when they are probably going to ask faculty and staff to take a wage freeze or a pay cut.
Plus overall budgets at the overwhelmingly majority of colleges will be cut to some degree
Perhaps some faculty (adjuncts) will be cut loose depending on the financial damage being done.
Not as if Fordham's president is overly concerned with the Rose Hill basketball program
As an aside may want to take a look at the twitter feed of The Chronicle of Higher Education for articles on specific impact to individual institutions.
