As we all know, given current circumstances, colleges are in a financial bind (some worse than others).

I guess they don't want to write a check to a basketball coach when they are probably going to ask faculty and staff to take a wage freeze or a pay cut.

Plus overall budgets at the overwhelmingly majority of colleges will be cut to some degree

Perhaps some faculty (adjuncts) will be cut loose depending on the financial damage being done.

Not as if Fordham's president is overly concerned with the Rose Hill basketball program

I got to believe Neubauer gets a 1-2 year extension with a reasonable buyout just to avoid being a lame duck next year. Very unusual on this level to ever allow a coach to go into the last year of a deal without either firing him or giving him an extension. See Lavin 2015.

What if they have a big year next year? And he becomes a bit of a hot commodity. But with no extension now you have zero leverage he can walk with no penalty. Plus how is he going to recruit? Is that going to happen? Probably not, but you have to protect yourself against something like that. So you give him an extension with a small buyout that way if he does not do anything next year even with the extra year or 2 left you can still fire him and pay the reasonable buyout and move on. And if he does have a big year you have in under contract past next year already.

Beast, Arthur Ave. has some great Italian restaurants, but I have been inside, the tables aren't big enough for what Pitino needs them for.

more to the point, I remember when Fordham was relevant with Kenny Charles and Charlie Yelverton, that made NYC college Basketball more fun. Like when Manhattan was good too.
