A warm welcome Dave from a fellow Regian, class of 1970. Sounds like we also grew up in the same neck of the woods as I am from St. Andrew Avellino parish in Flushing. Don't think I had any classmates from St. Roberts but had several from Blessed Sacrament in Bayside.
Thanks for the welcome- always nice to see a fellow Regian. I suspected there were at least a couple on here. I have good memories of St. Andrew Avellino. I went to Holy Cross HS basketball camp in the late 80s when it was getting big in Northeast Queens and St. Andrew's had the spillover court for extra space- we'd load up in the van and coach Joe Gianuzzi who was later the principal I believe would drive us over. Haven't thought of that in awhile! Really good times. I remember we had great guest lecturers at that camp, but of course for me the highlight was when Ron Rutledge came to visit, and during the Q&A I asked him - all 12 years old of me - why Mark Jackson did not play more minutes than Mike Moses against the Georgetown press in '85. I recall him laughing and moving on.
