QUEENS, N.Y. (Nov. 13, 2015) – St. John’s guard Felix Balamou (Conakry, Guinea) has been deemed ineligible for game competition due to an NCAA violation. The University is seeking reinstatement and Balamou is permitted to practice with the team during this process.

“We understand Felix’s disappointment and we are here to support him,” said St. John’s general counsel and interim athletic director Joseph Oliva, Esq. “St. John’s will work in concert with the NCAA through the reinstatement process.”

Balamou has appeared in 54 games in his three seasons with the Red Storm. The Conakry, Guinea, native has career averages of 1.6 points and 1.1 rebounds playing 9.1 minutes per game. In 2014-15, Balamou played in 22 games, including 12 BIG EAST appearances, and made three starts. He averaged 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in conference play last season.

My first thought was: WTF???????
My second thought was: How are we going to replace our starting power forward?

NCAA reaction to Mullin's quote....
“It’s absurd and I’m 100 percent frustrated,” Mullin said on Saturday. “I’m thinking about flying to Indianapolis myself. I have some friends there with the Pacers, I may fly to Indianapolis myself to investigate"

The idea may seem like "conspiracy theory" paranoia to some, but I strongly suspect that the NCAA was sending a message in order to discourage criticism from others. These clowns have long been known to be vindictive and unprofessional

I'm guessing this has some ties to OSNA because of all the recent issues with that school and the NCAA. Maybe something to do with recruitment of Diallo, Yakwe or even Obekpa?

I'm starting to get a bad case of Avery Brundage heebie jeebies, Harry Anslinger tell them whatever keeps our funding up halitosis, and Lance Armstrong chutzpah disease, any one of which could be lethal because my wife will definitely kill me.

Good thing they haven't really been paying attention to our games. Otherwise they would have tried to make Christian Jones ineligible.

Oh goodie

#ThanksLav!

I hate to do this, but could it be a former player who happens to be sitting out this year who went to the same high school, being vindictive. I can't however see him doing that to his pal though, but something is up that's making me become a conspiracy theorists.

Also, Felix has proven he could do college level work for 3+ years, so isn't there a statute of limitations, if this indeed dates back to OSNA?

other than feeling bad for Felix, I could frankly care less about this.
