Brian W,
Great point re: the Mike Jarvis hex, the last time we sold out a November/December non conference CA game was back in 2001, nearly 13 years.
Each year we fail to make the ncaa we continue to lose younger fans, media attention etc. We are an aging fan base with diminishing returns.
Thanks,

The Cubs still draw well & up until they finally broke the hex, so did the Boston Red Sox. :silly:
I first went to Fenway in 1992, and the game I was at had plenty of extra seats, for a Sunday afternoon vs. the "bash brother" Oakland A's. In fact, we walked up to the box office and bought tickets that day. The Red Sox didn't really start selling out every night until Pedro got there. Everyone started buying seats in advance, hoping for a Pedro game.
The Cubs defy logic. They and the Marlins are baseball's exceptions to the "only winning will bring in the fans" rule (in opposite directions, ironically... The Marlins don't draw flies now, and didn't when they won 2 world championships, either).
Even the Rays have picked up the attendance somewhat in recent years (but there are far too many east coast transplants down there for them to ever build a great fanbase).
