*refreshingly this is CBSSN first year with an HD channel, so we won't be watching the game in low quality on this channel like last year.

FDU is an extremely guard heavy team. Tallest player is 6'7 and he doesn't even start. They have a senior guard named Mustafa Jones who scores 16 a night for them. Harrison should shut him down like he did Cooney and we will be fine there.

FDU beat St Joes, but lost to Rutgers by 17 and Notre dame by 18.

I'm Fairleigh certain we will win this game. Should be 19-20 point favorites if I had to guess.

This is one of those games where we need to come out aggressive from the start. We don't want to allow teams like this to hang around. UConn and Providence can attest to that & they lost to Ivy League opponents

Agree NYC. This team finally has a ranking, now can they show further progression and play hard against teams not named Gonzaga, Minnesota, and Syracuse.

I assume the "Taking Care of Business" mantra will apply here. One at a time, get to 11-1 before BE play. To me it is quite attainable with an experienced team & crucial to build confidence & show folks we are for real. Don't squander this opportunity. We can dance & it might be a few more years before we do again if this roster completely turns over.

Numbers preceding a team tend to bring out the best in the opposition. Vigilance and aggression from the outset are the antidotes. Do we have it in us?

No ESPN3 listing. Not on schedule and not on the "upcoming" list on the WatchESPN app.

ESPN doesn't have rights to any of our home games. Fox has them all and gave some games to CBS.

Three things I am looking at are:
[ol]
[li]do they value their moment or just take the game lightly. If they've learned anything over the past four years they should know that they need to come out strong and finish strong no matter who the opponent but more than that appreciate it. There are in fact opportunities to learn here. They have executed well about 30-40% this season on offense. That is way up from previous seasons but they could take this game as an opportunity to continue to refine that. Primarily for this crew that means inside/out. If we accept Lavin's premise that this is a "perimeter oriented team" Get the ball inside and that will increase their FG% by giving them better shots when it is kicked out. Puts pressure on the opposing defense and makes them work instead of just passing the ball around and then taking a random shot essentially making the defense work for only about 5 seconds per trip. And make you free throws and good things happen[/li]
[li]how PGIV responds to all of the attention. Does he come out continuing his great stretch or does he go into a shell.[/li]
[li]Jordan playing team ball instead of forcing things and turning the ball over[/li]

Nice post Paul. To me the Jordan point is the key to our continued success. Will he buy into the team first mentality or force things? Hope he does not view this year as pro ball audition. I will assume the best.

I'll be looking at our 3-point defense.

Too often we've given up career nights to some kid just stroking it from behind the arc.

We scout guys like Cooney of Cuse and play him tight. But with lesser competition, we treat them as if they can't put the ball in the hole.

They need to come out like a team that is not satisfied being ranked #24 in the nation.

And yes, the Sheed Showcase needs a quick hook if he thinks he'll Eurostep his way to 20 points.

I agree with everyone's points. I expect a quick start, take it to them from start to finish. If we need to use a timeout before the first media break I will be very annoyed.

18.5 point favorite

Take FDU and the points. Remember, Lavin is coaching. That means an "educational" experience for his players.

Plenty of teaching moments for Amar & Myles since they are integral parts of our rotation.

Why not for Chris Jones also? We will definitely need someone to bang bodies down low when Dom or CO gets in foul trouble.

Appears to be in dog house.

Have you ever seen Jones "bang bodies down low" or anywhere? I think all of us would love to see Jones play with some passion. Someone previously mentioned the need for someone on staff punching him the face to get him motivated. Harsh but for a guy that is rumored to be freakishly athletic I have never seen it. He looks like he'd rather be picking flowers somewhere than battling for a rebound.
