(EXHIBITION) Michigan (MSG), Sat., Oct. 25, 7p, Big Ten+

I may be wrong but let me apply my new found knowledge. I'd say Lawman's +/- is zero because he wasn't in the game when the other team's shooter got fouled and he missed his buzzer beater.
And there you see a major flaw. Lawman wasn’t on the floor when the foul occurred which sent the shooter to the line, but he was technically in the game for the points being scored. And this is coming from someone who thinks it’s still a valuable stat. Just more so over larger time.

Jackson’s floor is a really good 2 that can shoulder some lead guard responsibilities. He can shoot and — I may be alone on this part — drive well. What he will do for others…that part is unclear to me.

Sanon is an enigma to me so far. I think he has to be the go to in big spots by January.

I saw enough good from Darling where I am not scared about PG. Let’s just get some shooters in the corners when he’s in there. Plus, I think we can just give Sanon a high ball screen and let him pull up from 3 if we are stuck. He’s going to get it off at will and we have the rebounders if he misses.

Sanon shot and just go after it with Mitchell, Zuby, and Hopkins doesn’t seem like a bad plan.

Thought Jackson had a really nice drive and finish in the first half.

I can’t help but think his first and only thought each time he looks at the basket is to get into his sidestep-step back shot. It almost looks like there’s times he needs to gather this way before he can make a pass.

Lawmanfan should be charged the minus 3 because it was actually he who tripped the opponent while sitting on the bench and the refs didn’t see it. 🤪

Jackson will be fine and Marillac doesn’t like being the voice of reason.

Seeing him in mock drafts last season may have clouded our expectations a bit. Having him there was ridiculous anyway.

We already know his floor -- 12 ppg in a major conference. Even normal progression as a sophomore means good numbers.

He just needs to do all the other stuff Pitino expects. Would also be awesome if he doesn't get pissy if he comes off the bench, and maybe even realizes a junior year under Pitino would be best thing for him.

Ok (very) late to the party because I’ve been basically off-line since Friday. Watched a condensed 28min of the game and had no idea who won/how it ended so, yo, holy excitement Batman. I mean, just a couple of years ago we would have been dying to get this kind of atmosphere for a midseason BE game and now we’re getting it in a frickin preseason game?? Unreal.

I’ve gone through the thread so I won’t go repeating a lot of the obvious stuff already said. Zuby’s free throw shooting was on point. Hopefully, that stroke stays. Mitchell was a beast. Thought Prey looked fine too. I can’t really go off an edited 28min version of things. Glad to see Darling is hardly the donkey a lot of you foolishly thought he was after one stupid preseason game smh.

Yes it was a preseason game. Pitino was definitely playing around with things to tweak them for games that matter. And, yes, our press looked like a mess and I’m convinced he stuck with it awhile to drill it in these guys’ heads that they have to move quicker. The infamous lateral quickness phrase we all love. Another thing, what a unique lineup Michigan presents. They are BIG, and I reckon to guess, we wont be facing many teams that present the matchup issues they do. I fully expect this team to be stellar, and I do us.

Lastly, I hope Lefty plays a lot. That boy stepped up and made some huge threes when a) no one on this team could hit anything and b) the game looked over. I know another guy who missed two FTs last year at the end of a game that could have won it (and that game counted) and you could argue that moment was the turning point of his season/career and I see a very mature guy in Lefty and as Gene pointed out, he has a ton of International experience, never looks out of the moment, and has played with grown men. He’ll be fine and he’ll be a big reason why we’ll have success this year.
