Agree, last year's guard rebounding was key in many close games. Rick seems confident that these guys will get better quickly. Hope he is right as Kadary and Deivon are not "walking through the door,"

Also wish that Wilcher didn't transfer. I think he could have been a solid contributor on this team.

Agree. Expecting 17,000+ for Alabama. Afternoon game gets bigger crowds (kids, families).
Was surprised yesterday wasn't afternoon game since neither Knicks or Rangers were playing.

Like it or not, we have an issue with the point guard position. I don't think that using Sellers as the point guard is the answer because he doesn't strengthen the position due to lack of experience and it also minimizes Seller's strength which is a good catch and shoot two guard. I agree with the conclusion in LJSA's post.
 
It is what it is. Coaches job is to figure how how to highlight our strengths and how to minimize our weaknesses. Which he will do

I’m way more concerned with shooting guard but again complete confidence Coach will bring everything together

I'd say that's why we pay him the big bucks but we're underpaying him 😁

Maybe we have go to some zone defenses then. You have adjust to your personnel.

First , this wasn’t a Exhibition game , It was . in name only . It was a early clash between 2 alleged top 10teams . Not meaningless at all .

The Game was on our Home Court , MSG , the Mecca of College BB. As such , home court advantage usually counts for up to 4 points .
It didn’t help us win .

The posts on the Guard play should cause serious concern from the fan base . Most , if not all accounts saw it as horrific .
Which leads to a question on Recruiting . Why didn’t Pitino , etc go all in on getting , either Lee or Boogie , at any price ? True point guards of a high caliber .
Missing out on 1 or the other, is a bad miss . Excuses not necessary .

Our shooting ? From 3 points , if it continues will lose us more games than we want . What was it ? 4-27 ?
That’s 12 points in a OT game . If we shot 7-27 we win this game easy
Maybe getting rid of Wilcher and Brady , for spot up shooting wasn’t a good decision .
Wilcher , playing in his 3 rd season under Rick , could not possibly be as bad as the group last night .

From all accounts , the vaunted Pitino press was totally ineffective all game .

I was wondering why there was no mention in all these posts , of Hopkins or Zuby down the stretch of the game contributing important baskets ?
Did they not get the Ball enough ? Were our guards incapable of getting them the ball ?

Lastly , a overwhelming number of posters , at the game or watching at home , were screaming their heads off for Pitino to take the Press off .
Apparently , he didn’t .

As I said , at the beginning , this Game was a Exhibition game in name only .
Tossing it off as such is a error . A 2 point loss to another powerhouse team , is still a loss , whether it be October or March .
And , anyone thinking these 2 Coaches , didn’t want to win this game is mistaken .

Can only imagine how much insight you will have when you do see the games.
 
As exhibition games go, it was a great, entertaining game. Looking at the box score, I just realized that 32 of our points came from free throws. That has to be a recent record.

Yep. mjmaherjr exclusively. SG wasn’t a perceived weakness it was considered a strength so that’s my reasoning

With the level of talent at the 2 do you consider it a strength ? Because honestly I consider PG more of a strength at this point
