Ewing (or Obekpa) Theory Alert?

Statistically, Amar, Balamou, Jones and JDR are just about equal in terms of asset/liability. Amar has a nice "looking" stroke but is shooting 25% from 3 (6 for 24) and only 1 for 7 from the FT line. (same as JDR from the Line who does NOT have a nice looking stroke)
Amar is shooting 53% inside
Balamou: 31% inside
Jones: 59% inside
JDR: 40% inside

overall Amar is the best rebounder of this group; has the best A/TO and adds some steals and blocks. Of this group Felix has the greatest amount of liability - statistically between his low FG% and his turnovers.

If Amar can add 20 pounds he will be very serviceable. Just too young right now. Myles Stewart has the best looking stroke of the bench players but just too weak in every other aspect of his game.
Tough to win in post season without a true 6th man.

I think we are going to see SDSU try both strategies. Pack it inside on D and try to run us out of our bench. The bench thing will work in our favor and potentially lose SDSU the game. The problem with the Villanova approach is that SDSU is not Nova. They have neither the talent/weapons nor the bench that Nova has. They are St John's with a little more bench, a little more height. Not as fast or effective in transition and less scoring punch. We have 4 guys that can score and 4 guys that any one of them can also put up big numbers. Fisher is not a chess match coach either. He's similar to Lavin as a head coach in my opinion in terms of strategy and modus operandi.

Yeah, but he has a ring. And Jalen loves him something awful. So advantage: Fish.

Fisher has a ring with an asterisk. He inherited a team at the end of a season. Legitimate congrats to him for navigating that successfully but even after winning, a not insubstantial percentage of the Michigan fan base wanted to dump him. He still did some good things (and some bad things) but he does not instill fear as an opposing coach.
