Euro Pipeline

So I was talking today to SJUFAN2 about this and we were discussing Euro's and Matt A going out to see Freudenberg. The more you think about it the more I'm starting to believe we will become a pipeline for the top Euro players with Mullin for a lot of reasons.

Hearing Mussini after the game and his love for the garden and NY and seeing how Amar is so enthusiastic etc and Euro's in my opinion at least the high level kids being for the most part fundamentally sound will make them very attractive to Mullin

But another factor that no one has really talked about is the Porzingis factor. Don't underestimate this. Those Euro kids are going to see the love Porzingis gets here and him playing at msg with the fans going nuts and they are going to want to play where Porzingis plays. I could easily see Mullin grabbing a top Euro player every year.

This is something that can really put us over the top down the road and those kids can shoot. Oh man if Amar starts developing further this could be a fun ride over the years

When Freudenberg comes for a visit, the staff ought to take him out to eat at Zum Stammtisch on Myrtle ave in Glendale. The last of the original German restaurants in what once was one of the biggest German areas in all of NYC. The kid will feel right at home.

Or get him to Rolf's in NYC while they still have the christmas decorations up.

Was just there with friends last week. That egg nog is freaking good and oh man was it strong

Don't they keep the Christmas decorations up all year?

Sounds like my ex-in-laws.

I'm not sure how much you guys travel. I do quite a bit. When I'm in France or Germany or some other exotic place, the last thing I'm looking to eat is a hamburger and fries. I suspect it's the same with these kids who are here for a short visit. They're looking for a taste of NY not something that reminds them of home.

You're talking about you visiting a foreign country, as opposed to kid living here for possibly 4 years. He may occasionally get home sick. In any event, I was joking around as I suspect Maher was. Guess you've been traveling so much that you lost your sense of humor somewhere along the way.

Good stuff. Mussini's reaction that this was the greatest game/ victory he'd ever participated in was amazing. I'm not surprised to see him and Amar both find their touch with Chris running the show. No hesitancy whatsoever and that's what makes shooters excel..happy days at SJU

I'd like to be a fly on the wall for their chats with Mullin. More than anyone perhaps who every played for us, Mullin never forced a thing. He let the game come to him, even when Georgetown ganged up on him in the Final Four. The result was that every shot was a good shot, a high percentage shot. Both Amar and Mussini shot that way on Sunday, and Amar was no doubt feeling it when he drilled that long three late in the second half from well beyond the arc right of the key. I'm presuming that Mullin has also had the same discussions and patience with Durand Johnson, and now that some of the cobwebs are coming off, looks like he can be a big time presence for us the rest of the way.

does anyone know how many of our scholarships can be used on international students? I know D1 soccer has strict limits (for obvious reasons) but are thier similar limits in hoops?

No limits

Chris almost never misses a chance to praise performance It's hard to believe a guy like Amar was on our roster last year. Lavin should be watching Chris if he ever wants to coach again.
