Poor effort...usual poor shooting...Mathis totally disappears. This is a tough team to watch in the first half...one of the toughest in the country.

Neither Wusu nor Storr did anything in the first half to deserve second half minutes. Our bench has been horrible in this 2 game series. Let's see a little bit of Nyiwe & Pinzon in the second half.

Posh looks lost offensively to me. CMA has some figuring out to do.
Pinzon is hurt

Posh looks lost offensively because he’s not a shooter. In this setup we need him to shoot 30% from three and he has no confidence in his shot at all. We’re better off just rotating Curbelo and Posh for most of the game and have Storr or Pinzon in there because at least they can shoot a little.

As the Announcers have beaten to death this is the “style” St. John’s has decided to play. I am having a little trouble with play so frenetic that poor turnovers and really no structure on offense is “acceptable”. Real question: is this “style” going to be successful? I can’t say that I see a path to real success. This is a big question for the Program’s future.

If we can’t find a way to make this guy Mintz pick up his dribble we’re in real trouble

Curbelo plays with very little between the ears. Not even forcing a last shot with 1.8 seconds deserves being benched at start of 2nd half! Any high school kid has more instict than him.
These two guards CANNOT on the floor ar the same time.
They are too short to guard opponents.
Anderson never has his teams ready in the first half.
Like his players, he coaches just to get by.

All I know is this game has been pretty ugly for them too and so far we’ve been the team that is still standing at the end of all these ugly games. This team has shown an ability to stay together and play hard. Hit the boards harder, put Jones in the high post and keep grinding

That's my issue as well. I view it as a bit outdated unless you now have decent-to- elite talent across the board.
