I don't know if anyone else heard the 20 second snippet by Doug Gottlieb after the Francessa show ended. He basically made the case that Syracuse should be out based on the "St. John's Rule". Stating that any team that lost to St. John's "the worst team" in College Basketball with Rutgers who they beat should not be in the Tournament.

Now I am not going to argue with that feeling that we have a terrible team but does he really need to pile on a team that was eliminated months ago and never really had a chance from the start? Way for Gottlieb to get a couple of cheap yucks at the expense of an overmatched group of 20 year olds. Stay classy Doug.

in the end, who cares? we had a bad year. our team was garbage, we all knew that going in. Will be different story next year.

Gotlieb has been pissed at us since we beat his Notre Dame team and he put up a big goose egg.

He's a dick, and no need to waste energy on him.
 
Is anyone surprised by anything negative that comes out of Gottlieb's mouth? Do you really think he is the only one that has a sentiment like this based on our play this season. When the Committee looks at bubble teams like Cuse (who shouldn't get in) and looks for bad loses, this one stands out.

There are arrows being slung this way by many people better than Gottlieb. Bad season that many of us expected, so with that season, the arrows are going to come. Let them. The players and staff have kept their heads and remained classy. We are on the right course and this will be forgotten soon.
 
You expect class from a guy that stole teammates credit cards and racked up charges on them?
 
I've told this story once or twice on here, but I'll never forget standing front row of the student section during midnight madness I believe Lavin's first year, with Gottlieb standing right below us. The school invited someone with special needs to sing the national anthem. Gottlieb was laughing the entire time and looked up at me/the student section expecting us to embrace him and laugh with him. I was dumbfounded and just gave him a look of shock and said "what the hell is wrong with you?"

He's a real POS.

We are the definition of a bad loss and I am ecstatic we will knock Cuse out of Tourney. This is a non story, not sure what everyone is mad at?

Exactly, had any other team had a season like we did and Cuse loses to them, they'd be the brunt of the joke. Face it, we sucked this year, and what he said is accurate. And it very well may be the fact that since we beat Cuse they're out of the tournament.

On a related note, Gottlieb is reportedly in the running to be named the Okla St head coach.

I heard him on with Joe & Evan a few months ago and Joe came right out and asked If St. Johns would ever be good again. His response was positive and he said the program can get better under Mullin and he believed they would.
 
I'm creating a safe space this afternoon outside CA where anyone can join me to write how they feel about this violation in blood-red chalk on the pavement.
