Don't be shocked if Irish or Cincy don't dance

I know they seem like locks and have good records overall but I am not impressed with the way either of them play after watching both a number of times. Just because they are in the Top 25 now does not guarantee anything. I see both teams struggling down the stretch with tough schedules and I think it might come down to the matchup between the two on the 24th to decide which team gets in. Cincy plays good defense as usual but can't score consistently and I am not impressed with ND defensively. Although they are ranked much higher I don't think either team is better than the Redmen. To me there are only 5 locks in the Big East right now, Louisville, Cuse, Pitt, Marquette, and Gtown. Now that I said that ND may prove me wrong and beat Louisville tonight but that would surprise me despite ND's home dominance.

Cincy has a very favorable schedule from here on out relatively speaking.

Cinci was ranked #24 and jumped up to #17 after a win over Seton Hall. They follow that up by losing 2 straight. Let's see if they drop out of the standings. They play a weak OCC schedule but get ranked early on---and seem to stay there even though they lose in conference.

ND will be dancing. Cincy looks like they'll slip out but it's still early.

SJU fans should be pulling for ND to beat Louisville tonight which would make all 3 of us 7-4 in the conference. Would also help our RPI as we have one win against ND so far.

And then everything will shift again tomorrow :D

ND certainly has the opportunity to play their way out with another loss to us.

I think they lose to Villanova, Gtown, Louisville, and at least one of the UConn games. If I am right and they also lose to ND they would be in serious danger with a sub .500 conference record.

If they lose at home to Nova , USF or UConn they don't deserve to be in. That guarantees them a .500 record in conference. Would need one more or a good BET to get in. I agree.

both of these teams get in ahead of the Johnnies unless redmen win against the Cuse or lousiville. Neither has the bad loses Johnnies have.

This has been a great game. ND showing a lot of guts with all this foul trouble.

Sad to be snowed in and watch a great Big East game of ND vs Louisville and hear ESPN shills talk of the great game and how each of these teams are going to the ACC and what a great league that will be. Ruining a great BB league because of SOB college president's greed. Pathetic.

Agreed, but the BE was great long before these two teams joined, so I'm confident we will find others to replace them. I'll enjoy it while they're part of our league, then good riddance.

Our Johnnies have a chance to kick several of the defectors in the @ss on the way out these next few weeks, and I'll enjoy watching that as well. Go Redmen !!!

Wow. I can't believe that ND continues to find players off their bench who can score. This game is over three hours old, heading into the 4th OT, and the score is still only in the low 80's.

Wow, 4th OT, I am rooting for the Irish to get into the tourney no matter what happens with this game. I hope they beat Cincy and lose to the Redmen obviously.

Too bad our game vs. Lville isn't until Thursday. Would like to get them sooner after this marathon.
