“If you want to win, you’ve got to play defense,” said Garrett, who became eligible two weeks ago and has proved a quick study at learning the Johnnies’ complex defensive scheme. “I like being on (the other team’s) best guy and shutting them down.”
 
 
Glad his ankle is ok-- but in terms of his D-- he has got caught reaching a lot in his first few games.
 
 Good article....however when did Amir become a sophomore?? I guess all that extra school work the last 6 months :p

Cut him some slack, he's just learning the zones we use. When he's out on top harassing the ballhandler he and Dom have been effective. He looked OK when we switched to man in the second half against yukon.

A mature kid already who realizes that it was merely a short setback. A few months later and now he's where he wants to be. Playing bball at SJU and a pro baseball player.
