DePaul

I have seen DePaul and Providence on TV a few times this season
They are much better than most people on this board think
Both teams are very capable of beating us on any given day
Of course, I hope we get Big East wins #1 and #2 this week
If we lose to DePaul and Providence, it's gonna be a long season!!
At least, there is Dartmouth to get us to double digit wins for the season

I haven't gone to any DePaul or Providence boards, but I gotta think their fans (and their coaches) have to believe that they consider us a very winnable game.

But Lav says beating Dartmouth will enable him to achieve best out of conference proficiency in career. Stunning achievement! Lav is starting to remind me of "Jan" in those annoying Toyota commercials. Not selling cars Coach, you're running a Division 1 team.

Oh please....Lavin is so predictable. You know that if we lose one of the next two games, he will discontinue the March talk (remember he has now moved from February to March) and revert back to the: "I have always said this is a five year plan" talk. AND.....some people will buy into that as well.

Well if you were at the game last year against DePaul, you know the Johnies's needed overtime to beat them.
No game will be easy unless they shoot 50%, like against Fordham.

I'm confident about this one mainly because of our desperation, our players know this is a must win, i think we win by ten, I hope to see more and more improvement from sheed, who carried us through a stretch in the second half against nova.

And a side note, I know Tuesday is in Chicago, but later this year, why are we playing Depaul at the garden? Seton Hall would be better to have at the garden I think, not depaul

Seriously I wonder how those who donated their money feel about paying the salary of their coach who only cares about winning in march, I guess it`s acceptable to Lavin to lose the rest of this month and in February as long as we win in March.

If I`m one of those donaters I`d want him out.

Reportedly most of the money came from Mike Repole, if you believe the gossip. He is a diehard Johnnies fan. Think of it think way in terms of donors. If the top 500 posters on this site donated $5,000 per year just for a coaching staff, it wouldn't even pay this staff's salaries. Fans love to complain about how a college should spend money, but could you imagine even 100 of redmen.com members putting up that kind of money? At some schools, powerful alumni lobbies do exactly that, and influence matters. We don't and we won't

Watch me be dead wrong here, but I'm actually more confident in this one, because Depaul beat Butler.

If both teams came in winless, I could see Depaul seeing this game as their best chance at a possible win, and playing their butts off to get it. Now, I wouldn't be shocked if they overlooked us a little bit.

GO JOHNNIES!

We certainly can win, perhaps should win, but this will be a close one. Two struggling teams with poor in game coaches, erratic play & abysmal shooting makes this one hard to pick. DePaul historically turns the ball over a lot & at key times leading to easy baskets. We have not been bad in TO area, so that may be the edge.

Just arrived in Chicago. Going to the game with a few Depaul alum. We NEED this game.

I Agree and have been saying the same thing. There are no cupcake games in this conference. Its a great thing for the league. But not so great for us when we are not playing winning basketball for 40 minutes.

While the season isn't over if we lose, get out the paddles and call the ambulance if we do. We will be on life support and could not afford a single misstep the rest of the way. I am assuming we will have at least one, which makes tomorrow critical.

@FarcoSJU: Lavin first point on the mic is: Harrison has mild concussion and will be a game time decision. Did not practice today. Will travel.

we did?

@FarcoSJU: "This group has played without D'Angelo (suspension), if not we will go with the best active players. It's a big game."

@FarcoSJU: On whether this is an opportunity for Rysheed Jordan to do more: "Not necessarily. We are getting ready for DePaul.

Guess we are in great shape then;

@FarcoSJU: "I've coached long enough...I've had a team be 4-8 and go into the weekend playing for the Final Four. Been in the business a while."
