@DePaul, Sun. Jan. 1, 2pm, FS1/570AM

Hopefully our kids will be focused & get the road win, always a tough chore in BE. The mercurial nature of the team hopefully won't rear its head. Obviously winning would set the tone for a great atmosphere v a super Creighton team. Just sitting there last night with that crowd was so much fun. Would love to repeat that a few more times setting stage for a more successful 17-18 season. One at a time guys!

One of toughest things to develop for any team let alone a young one is game to game consistency. Huge part of what makes the great teams great is bringing it almost every time out, 2-3x per week, for 5 months. We have obviously been very up and down in this regard but putting together back to backs @Cuse and last night is a tremendous building block.

Bringing same intensity and engagement to what I'm assuming will be a far less energized environment in DePaul, even if result doesn't necessarily go our way, would be continued positive for this young squad. Not an easy task but key component of how you become great.

I had this one penciled in as a possible W - until I watched DePaul almost beat Nova on the road on Weds. No gimme's whatsoever in this conference.

Expecting a big game from Lovett in front of the hometown crowd, despite being < 100%.

Must not overlook this game. DePaul is not that much worse than Penn St.

Very pleased with two very unexpected wins, but I also am expecting that Sunday at DePaul will temper giddy reset expectations to an appropriate level of ups and downs. At least now we now that on the right night we can beat a good team, although it's likely that a #13 ranking was a bit high for Butler.

Just to imagine Ws and sugarplums at this point in the season is more than expected a couple of weeks ago

True, keeping things in perspective is healthy. Btw, if LoVett's handlers, friends & family come to DP game, the crowd may be evenly split. :)

Butler has beaten Arizona Cincy and Indiana where 2 of 3 in the top 10. Before our game they would have been top 10 had it not been the bad loss to I believe Indiana state.

As a reference point for up and down nature of this team, the spread has missed by double digits in 7 of last 8 SJU games. 4 were SJU wins, 3 were SJU losses.

You missed the two previous games in Vegas, they stunk. If we regain our 3 point touch we should win this one.

I think we have a better team than DePaul. DePaul is as good a road game as you are going to get in conference. Probably will be close but need to pull this one out. Would not be surprised if we are the slight favorite.

They got Nova to play sloppy. That is something. Kind of what we did to Butler. Not sure we want to get into a rock fight with them but limiting turnovers would be a big key. Also will give us insight into our team's mindset. If they are really hungry they will be just as up for Depaul as Butler and Syracuse but playing on the road in an empty arena against the bottom of the conference will be a real maturity/motivation check. Won't be the least bit surprised to see one of our mid game mini vacations, but would be really disappointed after the last two games.

With so many freshmen I'm sure we will have some more head scratchers (both good and bad). Hopefully they saw something in themselves after this game and come out fired up.

There is also a chance that DePaul has a let down as well.

As long as Garrett doesn't get the call every time he throws his head back I feel confident we'll be 2-0.
