DePaul Game

Ashame. Kid went through a tough year. Clearly he wasn't himself at the Xavier game and is grieving the death of a family member.

The team will need to buckle up and pull this one out. It is now not a guarantee.

Positive thoughts out to Rysheed. I definitely respect his decision. With that said, we are far FAR more talented than DePaul. We must win this game. There are no excuses.

The question is: Who will be the starting PG? We all want Branch, but w Lavin you never know.

First and foremost, thoughts and prayers to Rysheed and his family. Many college freshmen (never mind athletes) struggle with the challenge of leaving home for the first time. Add to the mix the challenges he has faced this year and all you can do is hope that the support of the staff, his teammates and, to whatever degree we matter, St. John's fan base is helpful to him.

Also interesting to read Marco's quote. Given the way his situation has played out over the past two season, he's handling it with class and like a great teammate.

Phil Greene will be dribbling the ball miles today, side to side and taking
every open shot he gets !! Play Branch the whole game !!

Agree as long as Greene is not running point for extended period...Jordan will be missed even more on defense where he routinely gets over screens...Some think Greene is a good defender...I think he is the reason for many of our defensive breakdowns...he doesn't get over screens and is a terrible off ball defender...just gets lost...

Few things I want to see today:

1) I want to see some fast break points, that's when we are at our best, and we had ZERO fast break points against Xavier.

2) please let Branch run the point. I know he can't play 40 minutes, but he should play at least 25-30 today. Limit Greene running the point for as long as you can.

3) Harrison needs to get back on track today, if we are gonna make some run here at the end of the season he's going to have to put up 20 PPG every night.

4) a blowout win!

last 2 games have been a bummer......what a difference....has sucked the enthusiasm out of us......1 hour before gametime and this thread is only starting the 4th page.....last few games were already double digits at this point.....we can still make the ncaa's...but have a lot of work to do...but I think we can still do it......this game scares me a lot more than Marquette.....DePaul can score.......we need several players to step up.....play big Harrison/Sampson!!....everyone else do a little more....play with passion!!

He's shooting 37%. I'm not interested in 20 points on 7 for 20 shooting. He and the team would be so much better if he would just cut down on the bad rushed shots especially from 25 FT or beyond

It has come increasingly clear to me that we need to win the next two, the first game of the BET against probably Marquette or Providence and then Villanova. We need that Villanova win to have any chance to get past the teams ahead of us. I hope we are not stuck playing Xavier and Creighton in the BET which I think will be tougher and not as helpful as a win against Nova.
