2) D’Angelo Harrison is a trip, really. But he’s also a real baller too, and a pretty good one at that. The St. John’s product is a scorer and knows how to put the ball in the net any which way which is what he did in the win over Maccabi. Whether it was driving to the hoop or hitting the crucial free throw at the end of the game, Harrison was there. And he doesn’t back down from anyone.

I always loved his play when he featured for Hapoel Gilboa Galil and was such an offensive threat for Ariel Beit Halachmi’s sward back them I was disappointed that he didn’t continue playing in Israel. But here he is, back and better than ever. “It was more the coach putting it in my hands and trusting me to do the right play,” said Harrison. “I think I got Adam (Ariel) a shot. I got Oz (Blayzer) a shot. I went to the line and made the free throws.

Obviously it was kind of weird in the second half. Coach just said to keep fighting and we did that. We scrapped it out made the game really ugly and that’s what we were supposed to do.”

A true Johnnie who belongs back with the program at some point down the road when his playing days are over.

Glad he's had continued success.

This is the top league in Israel, correct?

Looks like that kid Hankins from Xavier is on his team

Have to say Sports Rabbi is an awesome name for a website.

Great to see him thriving. Wherever his career takes him, I hope he reaches the highest of according to his overall talent and determination. It's amazing that once he controlled his rage he channeled into a level of focus, determination, and effort rarely seen on the court.

[quote="Paultzman" post=394671]Maccabi Tel Aviv captured their 54th Israel Basketball League Championship by defeating Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 86-81. The yellow-and-blue used inside power from MVP Amare Stoudemire and Othello Hunter to dominate the paint and neutralize D’Angelo Harrison’s record setting 38 point performance to win their unprecedented title.

Wow. Amare Stoudemire still playing.

In the news recently too:https://bleacherreport.com/articles...tic-rhetoric-black-community-lacks-leadership

As a long suffering Knicks fan, I'll always have a soft spot for Amare. The one big-time free agent who really wanted to play for the Knicks and gave us a great first year before injuries and Carmelo got in the way.

The interesting thing is that Amare now has Israeli Citizenship so his team can have the full three foreign players in addition.

I love seeing D'Lo thrive and being reunited with his brother. He's such a good guy and has such passion for our program. I really think he can be an asset to help sell our program especially in places like TX and other southern/midwestern states.
