Chris Mullin said Amar Alibegovic over Kassoum Yakwe against Creighton was about matchups. Wanted another shooter on floor. #sjubb

WHAT?!!!!! Did Mullin refer to Amar as a shooter? Well there you have it. WE ALL KNOW Amar is not a shooter. Id rather take my chances with Yakwe. Amar is a rally killer as was Trimble

I grew up watching Chris Mullin, my favorite all time REDMEN, but this quote make him look like an idiot for saying that.
Sorry, but that's the dumbest quote I seen in a long time.
Anyone can shoot the ball, the key is to make your shots. Mullin should know this, he was a shooter.
Or maybe he was being sarcastic calling Amar a shooter?

This problem of substituting Amar and Yawke is probably going to surface many times for the rest of this season. Do you give the starters a blow hoping they come back refreshed or do you keep the starters in the game knowing their play will probably suffer down the stretch?
No correct answer but it would help if Amir stops thinking he is Steff Curry and doesn't go his usual 0 for 5 from 3 pt land when he does play.

Unless your playing the Princeton offense, or the Temple zone, I think you have to give the starters some rest.

However, we should try to do it around the media timeouts (as often as we can), so that they can get some extra rest, without missing much game time.

Do you think Amar Alibegovic is designing or redesigning the offensive sets once he enters the game? Right or wrong that is where Mullin wants him. Amar is the type of player who can be effective at a lower division if he played 25-30 minutes per game. Unfortunately, he has developed. Mullin has next to zero to work with off the bench as far as front court players go. Yakwe is a shot blocker. Trimble while just a frosh is the real disappointment as far as providing solid depth at the two spot. Mullin has his "shooter" in Trimble, he is just choking as a frosh. He has already been recruited over so I doubt he sticks. Time will tell. Give me the upstate kid any day over him!;)

Keep the starters in, screw it. We're getting 0pnts, 0boards from Yakwe, Trimble, and Ali anyway the last 2 games. Might as well put in the walkons instead of those 3, could the walkons do any worse then 0pnts and 0 boards???

Maybe there are things we don't know about Amar and Mullin was referring to Amar as a shooter in the same way Rysheed Jordan became a shooter.

WE COULD PLAY MORE ZONE that would help but to play zone thru most of the game we would need big guard with length otherwise they will shoot over our small guards

we talk like Lovett is like M Jordan he just a good 6 foot guard he is going to contribute every game but not put the team on his back and take over a game to win it MO
