Last year would have been different too if we didn't have the worst teammate in college basketball dictating our entire offense and not stopping anyone on defense. Jenkins would ruin this team. Switch him and Kadary and we are on the wrong side of the bubble. I'll die on this hill for decades. I've never seen a worse teammate. For the sake of the board, let's just agree to drop it. You bring it up more than even Mullin's Revenge.

My goodness you are emotional ., Yes , let’s drop it .

But , you have hung on to a widely variant opinion than a majority of this Board .

I think what puzzles most of us on your Jenkins burial is you state so many things that aren’t backed up by the year he had .
You just hate him .
Pitino would take you to the woodshed and counter everyone of your criticisms.

I’m done with debating you here . It’s
Not personal . It’s OVAH .

Not nearly what I was expecting. Uconn fans were pretty complimentary of us

Gotta say, I only read the first 3 or 4 pages and they are brutally honest about their team and our team. Have to tip my cap a bit to them.

I guess it’s always easier when you’ve won multiple NC’s to feel that way too, lol

Yeah but misleading, chants were from St John’s fans not UCONN. And those chants are usually directed at player that haunted a fan base, Reggie Miller, Trae Young, Dennis Potvin, etc. Actually a sign of respect, fear?
I hate Hurley and hated Boheim, Calhoun, Coach K, etc. But never considered any of them a “joke”.
That’s DENIS POTVIN…and Calhoun can…well I’m not finishing that sentence. Unethical as hell, my most hated person in this sport. As much as I hated Syracuse and Georgetown growing up I at least respected Boeheim and Thompson.

Think he thought the sneaker belonged to one of his players as he was barking at the referee to pause the game. Think he was genuinely surprised that it was Scott’s sneaker. For some odd reason he thought Scott wanted to shake his hand when Scott reached for the shoe.
I could have swore that I saw Hurley sniff the sneaker before he gave it back to Scott

Friend watching at home texted me that supposedly Pitino gave a great speech during one of those "in the huddle clips" after Uconn made their "run". Anyone have that?
I just watched the 2nd half and they played his halftime speech from the Providence game from the Vice doc.

Two things, trying not to say what’s been said already. Scott’s basketball IQ is off the charts. For as impressive his hustle is, he just always seems to know what to do no matter what. And, this is coming from someone who does not like Gus Johnson (I’ve always found his hollering to be unnecessary most of the time and it cheapens the big plays), but he wasn’t half as bad as some of you were making him out to be. I found him rather complementary to be honest.

Lefty’s future role will be 3 pt Shooter
If he masters that role , no one will care if he can’t guard a lawn chair .
Totally disagree, he is a very good all around player and very much capable of showing it at this level. Hasn’t played all year and stepped into a big game in front of a packed crowd at MSG and played a contributory, controlled, poised 6 minutes when the game was still very much on the line and acquitted himself more than fine on both ends of the court.
Came in at the nine minute mark with the score 24-20 and left 6 minutes later with The Johnnie’s up 43-27. Certainly not remotely giving him credit for all that but his being part of that run IMO was no fluke.

Absolutely correct. Our coach is all about defense one of the reasons he loves this year's team. If Lefty were to be a three point specialist who can't defend at all (and I emphasize I don't think that appears to be the case) he'd never be more than a situational player on a good Pitino team.

Agree. But the kid appears to be coachable, has decent size, limits mistaks and has the bb iq that time in the euro pro leagues helps develop. Not surprising that it's taken 8 months of practice to get up to speed (no pun intended) on playing at this pace, especially on D. As a critic I kept my eye on him and he knew where he was supposed to be, even if he didn't get there as quick as some of the other guys. He was close enough given the game situation. I'm sure that there will be additional improvement before next year.

Last year under Pitino , we had Ledlum and Dingle , Soriano . And , as well as they played they could not reach the level of speed , quickness and athleticism this years team has .
Jenkins , in my opinion , had the speed , knowledge of knowing exactly what Pitino wanted on the Court .
Of course , Pitno loved Daniss from his years at Iona and knowing Rick’s system . I don’t recall Jenkins getting anything but , love from Rick
He had the keys that Rick gave him . Not sure , Rick’s keys this year are anywhere but , his pockets .

Yet !
Hindsight is 20-20 but Jenkins is now on an NBA team, and he came from the MAAC. He was very lucky to have come across paths with CRP. CRP is a mad scientist. He seems to take athletic guys and make them into what he wants, otherwise my guess is he would just recruit players that have good shooting stats. I can't tell if CRP is making the best of what he has or if he is happy with what he is.

Fact Check: Daniss is in the g-league making ~$580k. His 2 way contract status has earned 8 minutes in NBA games in emergency call up situations. FYI non 2 way players in g league make $40.5K for the season.

On a separate note RJ should get Kadary's bag at least. That is a lot more than he'll earn as another likely 2 way player plus give him time to work his way up the 2026 draft board. Consensus NBA Draft site I visit has him at #54 in 2025.

He just lacks the maturity and temperament to accept winning a third straight “Natty” is incredibly difficult, especially after losing four outstanding college players now earning $. I respect Hurley’s competitive nature, coaching & recruiting acumen, but find it sad he just can’t smell the roses. I watched Tom Izzo this year celebrating his MSU accomplishments and contributions of his players. He has been in the winning circle, but has also had his disappointments. More importantly, Izzo appreciates his life as a coach and rolls with things, while Hurley seems incapable of such and likely headed to burnout. I can’t imagine how his persona would translate to the pros.
A couple of poor seasons in a row, and Hurley's surly personality is gonna start to grate on UCONN fans as much as it does everyone else.
