Scott & Smith played lots of first half minutes. May need to give them both a short rest early in 2nd half

I thought Ayo was suspect earlier in the year. Now he is a viable option. Plays EXCELLENT defense, very athletic, able to hang with guards on switches. That’s why Rick is bringing in very few next year.
There's never been a question about Ayo from a defense, energy, and leadership standpoint. He is never going to hurt you on those fronts. Any offense is gravy.

Before the game Hurley compared CT to Rickey Balboa against SJU; CT has won two NCs in a row, is favored to win a third, our program has been down for 30 years, and HE’S Rocket Balboa??!!

I expect U Conn to come out with energy, hit the boards hard, and look for opportunities to take advantage on the switches. In the latter I expect them to target Smith if they get him on Reed/Samson, Flagg, or Karaban.

The last few games teams have found that if they get Zuby out on the perimeter they can beat us in the paint and I am sure Hurley did not miss that.

On offense we are becoming more dangerous since when people give us the 3 we have been hitting some.

Think it will be a very competitive game.
I think UConn will have a run or mini-run (or two) at some point in the second half like most UConn teams we've come to know. But I think we'll also go on our share of runs as well.

I think we'll win this game by double-digits, and a few of us will be sipping on a celebratory beverage during the final two-to-three minutes of the game.

I am drinking already , trying to hide it from Mrs North. 🍻

You can see which team wants it more. Defense has been excellent. Having said that I don't see these offensive numbers holding for us. Expect the margin to narrow. Hopefully not too much.
This team continues to show up with effort and hustle. Decades past have taught me to expect an occasion lazy effort. This bunch is changing that...

Need to keep the tone right out of the gate. They will get a run or two in them, but don't want to see it right out of the gate.
