And that's why he was so irate about losing his best player to Louisville. His job probably would have been saved for another year if he had a probable 24 ppg scorer to work with.

UMBC who we beat this year fired their coach last week.
 
I'm in this group, but a lot of us presume he know's what he is doing because he is animated and authoritative. We really don't have a clue if he actually had had a positive impact or not.

That's neither an indictment or a compliment - it's just that he appears to be the guy who takes control from the bench.

Can anybody think of other coaches fired after a season making the tournament?

The Yankees fired Yogi Berra as manager after they lost the World Series to the Cardinals and then hired the Cards manager. If the Yankees could fire Yogi, any coach can get canned
