I think Chris has some sort of connection to Boomer.

They’re around the same age.

One of Boomer’s closest friends and on the Board of his CF Foundation is a Wall St. guy (Billy H) who went to Xaverian H.S. and donated enough to have their gym named after his dad. Billy is a big BB guy, NYC, so Knicks and St. John’s and he has got to know Chris from Xaverian although I think he is a little older than Mullin.

I bet they bring up the connection.

Missed it. I usually only get to catch them when the show comes on while in the car driving to the train station for less than 10 minutes. I did not catch this bit but I have heard some of his other Waldman bits and they are usually pretty funny.

Boomer was great, Carton was his normal self. They invited Chris to play on their charity softball team, it was a good listen. Some Dream Team talk, and Carton challenged Mullin to a hoops game, Mullin told him to stop at the ATM on the way to make it interesting :)

There was good rapor. Good 1st appearance. Not much substance.
 
Listened to the entire interview as I was driving down to LaGuardia. Those two, Boomer and Carton, really don't know college hoops, especially St. John's basketball, at all. They were as ignorant as expected. Not one question about CO or Sheed returning. Not one question about how Matt and Slice will work on the recruiting trail. Not one question about where he, Mullin, has already been recruiting and who he's seen. Not one question about the the guys who just committed to St. John's and where does that leave Sampson, Diallo, etc.

But when they started talking pro hoops, they were really into it; asking Chris questions about who he thinks is the MVP this year.

Questions submitted from this site would have a heck of a lot more substance than what those two idiots asked today, or even what Francesa would ask Chris.

But I have to admit, I did get goose bumps listening to Chris talk as our new Head Coach!

To be fair Tony, coach can't even mention any of the recruits by name until they've signed a LOI.
So Diallo, Sampson, even Sima and Williams are off limits.

Which is really the point. Going on those shows is just really about exposure for the program.

Not surprising in the least. The average fan doesn't follow the obelpa or jordan drama and those 2 are not really fans of SJU hoops so it should come as no shock.

Thanks, Desco. Completely forgot about that! And Chris was talking about a test he had to take for NCAA compliance. I would have hated to see him violate those compliance laws on a radio interview!

yeah if want a more in depth interview, the brandon tierney interview today was probably better
