Coach Lapchick / Sporting News

I was at SJU when the McIntyre brothers played. Nothing against either one of them, they were good players but Bobby didn't put up big numbers and Kenny didn't rise to the level of those previously named. A guy who had a couple of great seasons before injuring his knee was Killer Davis, although I'm not sure if he played for Coach Lapchick.

Mel Davis also had the misfortune to play for Coach Mulzhoff

Mulzoff had a decent record, 56-29. The one thing he did was open up the offense, after Lou's deliberate pace it was a revelation. He had a big frontline with Killer, Greg Cluess, Bill Phillips, Tony Prince and Billy Schaefer at the 3. It was not uncommon to have us scoring in the 80s or 90s and we cracked 100 seven times, twice over 110. Those were three fun seasons to watch. If you ask Killer I don't think he'd say he he had the misfortune to play for Mulzoff.

Surprised at the omission of Alan Seiden. He played two years for LApchick.
Was second team All American in 59.

Started at SJU same year as Seiden. He spent 3 years with Lapchick. Could be Allen rubbed coach the wrong way. Seiden's class was recruited by Dusty DeStefano.
