Coach K

I mean I hate Duke more than anyone, but come on, Brooks just drained a three in the final minute when they're up big. And eliminated them from the tournament and you want him to hug the guy who just did that? I would never in a million years. It would be more damning had he hugged it out like that.

The kid casually tossed one up from 30 feet to avoid a 30 second violation. Only problem is he's so good it happened to go in. I'd tell my kids to do the same. By taking the shot the clock keeps running and the game ends faster.

Agree 100%. Brooks took a Steph Curry-like three and it just happened to go in. In no way was he trying to show up the Duke players on the court.

I don't think Coach K trying to talk to him was malicious, but in my view it was not appropriate nor the right time for it. You lost, Oregon won, end of story. Shake hands, say good game, and wish them good luck. Even if you think the 3 was unnecessary, it just doesn't have to be said. Focus on your own kids, especially Grayson who for the record acts like a clown on the court.

Here's Coach K's statement

“Today, I spoke with Oregon head coach Dana Altman and apologized to him for my remarks to Dillon Brooks following our game. It is not my place to talk to another team's player and doing so took the focus away from the terrific game that Dillon played. In the postgame press conference, I reacted incorrectly to a reporter's question about my comment to Dillon. Clearly, the story that night was about Oregon advancing to the Elite Eight, and the outstanding game they played. I sincerely hope I did not create a distraction for Coach Altman and his team at this critical time of year. Certainly, I have the utmost respect for the Oregon program and their tremendous accomplishments.”

As if Allen wouldn't have done the same.
Michael Kay cited dozen or so instances where Duke players took 3 point shots with less than 45 seconds to play in games that were long over (20 point advantages)...Needs to look in the mirror at himself and his own "brats"

Well the lying RAT B finally came clean and apologized to the opposing coach and player. Guess he deserves some credit for that but it was his complete arrogance that caused the problem.

He had to come clean. It was recorded.

This is standard damage control to preserve his brand.

BTW, how many intentional tripping incidents did dirt bag Allen have this season? I believe it was at least three. Apparently coach K. didn't have any heart to heart conversations with him or obviously it wouldn't have continued. Sounds two faced to me.

Someone computer smarter than me should transfer today's N,Y, Times article by William C. Rhoden about the Krzyzewski subject entitled THE IRON FIST OF THE EMPEROR COACH where he takes Coach K apart. Lesson learned is "don't pick a fight with a guy who buys ink by the barrel"; you are doomed to lose even twenty five years later.
