Beast, believe you shrunk Beaver 2 inches he was 6'4! Beaver Smith and Searcy were 2 of the all time SJU leapers but Searcy was a stand still straight up leaper probably the beat of that kind.

Rumor had it that Searcy wore 6 pairs of socks when he played as a cushion for his feet when he leaped for a rebound or to block a shot

That is absolutely true, and when I played CYO bball I'd wear at least 3 or 4 mimicking Searcy. Not certain it was HIS style, but I do remember copying it. That was a great era also. I think Glen Williams played the two and had a silky jumper.
