Chief Blackjack & SJU

As a long time proponent of Redmen tradition, I have to say I think the time to ressurect Chief Blackjack has passed. I'd rather see a permanent exhibit at the field house with something written about the tradition and what it meant to our supporters, photos of our mascots, team uniforms and other paraphanalia and maybe old Blackjaack himself.

I just posted this on the Butler game thread, a shirt that someone is wearing.

When we played SD State in the NCAAs, SJU Fans in attendance were startled to see that their masvot is a male student scatily clad as an Aztec warrior. The similarity to our retired mascot was startling, short of the caricature we called chief blackjack. I' wonder what issues SD State has had with the pc police, and if any, what their response is.

Your description of a male student being "scantily clad" is a bit disturbing on a number of levels. Not that there is anything wrong with that. :)
