Champions Classic at MSG

Listening to Jay Bilas from the games tonight at MSG regarding Kansas looking to fight the charges against them and it will be up to NCAA to “prove it”.

Sounds like nothing will come down until “July.” How convenient for all involved that another season will be in the bag. Can’t miss that 2019 money. NCAA is a complete joke.

Be fair, it’s hard work for the NCAA to figure out how to let Kansas off the hook. It took, what, six years for them to come up with an out for North Carolina. But don’t worry, Rasheem Dunn won't be on the court to sully the reputation of CBB.

Bilas is right. The no one seems to care. He said no one gets fired. The Administrations don’t care so why should he.

Of course a kid like Rasheem Dunn gets screwed over. Totally corrupt with no priorities. Disgusting.
Seton Hall only up 39-32 3:30 left 1st half. Interesting.
They have tools for sure but they look sloppy and don’t have a lot of shooters except Powell. It’s early in season for sure so we shall see.

Wagner will give us a lot of trouble. SHU has more skilled bigs on this year's team than we've had in our last 20 yrs prob. I don't know why we schedule Wagner so much...they're a major pest. Why not schedule Marist? Obviously you want some legit games but some cupcakes too. Wagner hangs around a lot.

Let’s let Anderson coach these teams and see how we do first. We’ve been playing lots of seasons with very little in the way of coaching ability. We are short handed right now and will be without Dunn maybe and definitely Steere but once they’re back I think we will be ok. Let’s let Iron Mike do what he does and see how it works out first.

Who said that? Wagner is a decent team...give them credit. We won't have many easy wins this year because we're rebuilding.

you could be right, but we haven't even played one game in anger yet and you're thinking Wagner is going to give us a lot of trouble? Step back from the ledge, at least for now.:) ;)
Hell of a doubleheader; any redmen.comers there?
Aren’t they currently top 4 teams in the country? I think they said that. I never pay attention to early season rankings but it is a who’s who of schools.
Why is Hall and Wagner playing in Champions Classic.
They aren’t. I brought up score because it flashed as I was posting.

Not sure what your expectations are this year but I think we win 13 or 14 games. The Big East is nuts this year. We have a totally new coach and many mid major players filling in around the core of Steere, LJ, and Heron. Williams can take the next step, but he has a bad back. I'm also worried about Heron tweaking his groin like he did already in the exhibition. I don't think this is a year we will run away from mid majors in OOC every game. I think we will have our hands full with the Wagner's of the world and hopefully ultimately win but it surely will not be easy or pretty. We will have plenty of games where we lose by 20+ IMO. Just not enough talent overall after LJ and Fig. But that's ok, I've accepted what this year is. I just want to see improvement throughout the season, a real plan, and real development.

For those who like to debate which players qualify as "big men", please turn on ESPN right now and watch Kansas. They have two guys (Udoka Azubuike and David McCormick) that would treat the "slim jim" type centers and PFs like 4th graders.

I know we're not Kansas, but in order to achieve our long-term goals, we will eventually need to add legit size (not just height).

Can I thank this 100x? We seem to think 6'7 or 6'8 is good enough but the truth is it's often not. We need 6'10 240+at this level if we want to really do damage. Have we ever had a big man with a real offensive arsenal since Wennington who would also alter/block shots and rebound decent?

Well Steere at 6’9” 250 is a start but we need one more for next year. I have to say that Seton has a legit one in Obiagu. Didn’t expect him to be as athletic as he is at his height and size. Some good coaching and he can become unstoppable down low. We could only be so lucky.

Yes, just haven't seen him play yet so not counting him. By the way, watching Nova's opening minutes vs. West Point and Jesus...Jay Wright just knows how to get the kids he needs and he coaches the crap out of them. They look like they're on autopilot in midseason form already. And this is with an inexperienced team.

Azubuike is a monster, if he could only shoot free throws as well as Shaq.

Weird that the ACC is opening with conference games.
