We could win all five. USF and Prov, winnable. We beat ND, whether at home or not, ND can't handle athletic teams. Marquette just is a different team on the road, and Pitt looked very unimpressive at home tonight against ND. So stop with the o let's grab three out of five, just cheer for the johnnies and hope they win all five

I just posted elsewhere that balancing reality with optimism, we're an NIT not an NCAA team - and that's fine - the kids will get experinece ala Sealy and Williams circa 1990s.

Of course if Branch were playing things cuold change.

And all I am saying is that we can win out. If we do we are what 20-10, that's not NIT. People need to stop predetermining outcomes of the season before its even over

It's just not realistic. It's like buying a lotto ticket and saying "Well we COULD win the million dollars". Yes, it's true...you could. BUT it's much more likely that won't happen. We have 5 games left and we just got blown out 2 games in a row. We have no true PG and Harrison has been ice cold. We cannot shoot 3's. Marco looked great then cooled off. I think realistically we win 1-2 more games. With some luck we win 3-4 games. If everything goes right we win all 5.

Harrison kept us in the Louisville game before going into chuck mode when the game was out of reach. He may be out of his slump.

He tends to shoot/perform well at Carnesseca so hopefully we get that breakout game against USF.

Marco just needs more shots. Hit or miss, he should be taking at least 10-12 shots per game IMO.

Harrison has taken a major step back in terms of 3 pt shooting. He is shooting a full difference of .050 from 3 this year compared to last year. It's the same difference between a 35% 3 pt shooter and a 40% 3 pt shooter...big difference (.362 down to .312). I already knew just by the eye ball check, and just saw the stats matched my perception. This is very troubling because he should be getting BETTER at shooting, not much worse. Pretty sad when your biggest threat from 3 is a 31% 3 pt shooter (we don't know Marco's baseline yet due to less playing time).

The difference in his shooting % could be his extremely poor shot selection this year. I mean last year, he put up some bad ones. But not at this rate.

He shot a contested 3 off the opening jump ball at Georgetown for goodness sakes.

His shot selection is supposed to improve from frosh to Soph but it has digressed.not to mention he has been dealing with a bad thumb i believe.

Let's hope he stops with the hero ball and learns to value each possession.

Imagine if he just shot the ball at the collegiate 3 point line instead of the NBA line. I'm sure he'd have a higher average.

Last year, Harrison was the #2 focus of the opposition's defense. This year, he is #1. Also, teams have decided to play very rough defense against him. They grab and push and do their best to deny him the ball. Often, by the time he gets the ball, it is in bad positions on the floor, and with little time left on the shot clock. It doesn't excuse all of his bad shots but... Defenses have played him smarter this year. He now has to make adjustments and find ways to get better shots.

Using a 25-1 run. It was close with like 14 minutes to go, and it was Seton Hall. If Seton Hall can play with Marquette for 26 minutes, we can do it for 40. The points im trying to make is anything is possible.

I wouldn't say we played L'Ville tough. We hung in there after halftime but the game clearly got away and they were the obvious better team. Our defense did force them to have a terrible day shooting which was a silver lining, but the problem is that our defense is lightyears ahead of our offense. If our offense was as good as our defense, we would be a ranked team with a locked in NCAA berth already. I will say we have truly turned the corner if we prove we can win these BIG games with the postseason on the line against some of the better conference teams. I've said this before, but maybe I'm negatively biased because every NY team I root for comes up empty in big spots like these. It would be amazing though if we can somehow get into the tourney and I will be rooting hard for us each game but I have to stay grounded and realize that we are not Cuse...the odds are not with us.

It was 38-31 with 11 min left in the 2nd half at one point...so I guess similar to how we played them, but the thing about USF is they are 1-12. There is always that bottom level team that gets a random out of nowhere win against a team on the bubble. They now lost 8 in a row...we are not Nova...we have not proven we can blow out teams we should blow out. It would be like a holiday if we could make this game into a laugher, but that's not how we play. We keep worse teams very close and give fans near heart attacks. Would love to pull a Nova and win by 25+.

No one has said we are supposed to lose to USF. What I'm saying is that USF is the PERFECT example of a trap game where we may get caught looking ahead to Marquette, ND, and Pitt while USF shocks us. I know a lot of people say "this is the statement game", well I really think this is it. Can we win the games we are supposed to with our backs up against the wall with the pressure of a reachable NCAA invite, or will we sputter and make stupid decisions because we are too young to handle the pressure? It really is a shame we lost those Nova, USF, and Rutgers games or we might be locks right now in the tourney. We can do it...the question is, will we? Either way, next season we have to make sure we reduce those stupid out of nowhere losses like Asheville, USF, etc. because if we don't make it in the end, that's what will haunt us.

Sports rhetoric, and the 'trap game' and 'looking ahead' is somewhat used tritely. This is a game we should win, and I expect to win. If we don't win, then we'll show we're not deserving.
