With the Big East schedule fully underway, we get to see first hand how inferior CA is compared to every team in the league. I was watching the Xavier game today and there arena, and I got to tell you CA is an embarrassment! The so called upgrade to CA was a proverbial joke! Compared to every other arena it is a dump, and I am being kind by saying this! I probably attend 3 to 5 games a year with both of my son in laws, and frankly I find it embarrassing taking them to this facility. It is time to place some serious money into CA to at least put it on par with the other facilities in the league. It is a travesty that our esteem coach has this dump named after him!
 
Wow, harsh words and all the more credit to get recruits to commit here. Especially when it isn't even sold out.

Over the last few years, the university has seen declining enrollment and revenue. Why would it dump precious resources into an on-campus arena that isn't even their primary home court? If the team had continued success and the fan base showed up in larger volume, the school would shift more of its games to MSG anyway.

I'm not saying Carnesecca Arena is nice. We all know that it isn't. And I'm sure if St. John's had to play all of their home games on campus, they'd build a new arena in a minute. But with the current economic climate being what it is and the fact that the school doesn't exactly have the donors that some schools do or the state funded money that others have access to, I can't really blame them in choosing to keep it going.

To be fair, Villanova is last in average attendance but has sold out all 3 of their home games. Pretty small sample size to be judging attendance stats.

Have you ever thought the reason might be that fans do not want to sit on those archaic benches they call seats! I will tell you something else, I would probably buy season tickets if they upgraded the arena even though I am in Florida for a good part of the winter!

Nobody forces them to play on campus.
They play SJU and Marquette in Philly and both are bottom feeders.

Have you ever thought the reason might be that fans do not want to sit on those archaic benches they call seats! I will tell you something else, I would probably buy season tickets if they upgraded the arena even though I am in Florida for a good part of the winter!

I've become the Rysheed Jordan of fans and Carnesseca home games. I hate that arena and those benches that make my back hurt :)

MSG is an entirely different story though. Love that place

absolutely, people don't know how well they have. Seats are comparable to Hinkle and Cameron indoor;
 
If the administration wanted to build a new facility, or update the current facility, they could easily raise the funds for this initiative from their alumni! I'm in right now for $500.

How well we have it? Come on, it's not much to ask for a gym to be comfortable. That's all I want. Make it comfortable, do something about how hot it is, make the seating comfortable, and make it so you aren't staring at the ceiling if you are up high, and this is coming from someone who's been to one game at ca. My high school gym is nicer

How well we have it? Come on, it's not much to ask for a gym to be comfortable. That's all I want. Make it comfortable, do something about how hot it is, make the seating comfortable, and make it so you aren't staring at the ceiling if you are up high, and this is coming from someone who's been to one game at ca. However, you must make an investment in your infrastructure.

Didn't ' show for last yr NIT at CA. Interest is not there.
