Carnesecca Arena Changes

Prototype of the new seats.

The ones to be installed will be red and might have the STJ logo.1A72BA58-E5C4-43A7-B34C-D1EBFBBE8E37.jpeg

I agree the seatback upgrade looks "on budget", but I appreciate the effort and think the fanbase should feel "heard". My perspective is that this reflects our leadership team being in touch with our needs and doing the best they can with what they have. When/If our financial circumstances change, I believe bigger and better will be pursued.

They should stop putting lipstick on the pig. Either you upgrade the whole seating section or knock it down and rebuild a new arena.
This about the best you are going to get. Any other types of upgrades like they did in the lower bowl on the south side of the Arena would result in a huge capacity reduction.

That is a terrible answer by Craig. What about my ROI? I'd have been out of business 10 years ago.

They had ZERO issue making the Big Donor section sit-able.

What do you think is going to happen with people with long legs? I'm going to be trapped in even worse.

Honestly this answer is disgusting. Let him and the rich people sit in these "Seatbacks"

He can go take a flying leap off a knuckle sandwich.

While seatbacks all around would be nice, what he said is true and the right move. Losing 200 seats in that area of the arena would mean even less money made, not to mention throwing that much more money into an arena everybody knows needs a tear down and re-do. Cragg is just trying to make some inexpensive upgrades to help get by until the donor money is there.

I'd be curious if you polled everyone what kind of answers you'd get on if they'd pay $500 more for seats if it meant cushioned seat backs

It would be interesting to see what people would pay and then weighing that extra amount for a ROI. I’m sure Cragg and team have done this leading them to this decision. I doubt many would pay $500 additional, maybe $100-200?

In the big picture, and although i am aware of the context, in 2022 in New York City it is a sad commentary that this particular forum post exists and that our AD is responding to Twitter posts about seat backs.
