Carmelo Anthony’s son

Is he any good? Dad said his son would like to go to St. John’s when interviewed tonight at Knicks game
Syracuse is not gonna like to hear that!

I think his ranking might be a little inflated but he is considered a high major prospect. He wasn’t able to get minutes at Christ the king last year and transferred to LUHI.

He just visited Syracuse. I would think they would be the leader. I don't know if we are recruiting him but who knows.

Kayan Anthony is a Junior at LuHi after transferring there last winter from CTK. He is 6’4” and I last I heard he was a Top 100 (and climbing) in the class of 2025. Definitely worth looking at.

Apparently made a big jump over the summer.

And I don't want to piss off any certain esteemed posters with CtK friends, but I think the coaching is better at LuHi.

His dad was really interested in St. John’s (he was born and lived in Brooklyn before moving to Baltimore in his early years) but Jarvis screwed up from the start.
Melo’s first choice was St. John’s but Jarvis went hard early on Lenny Cooke.

Cooke was ranked ahead of Melo at the time and Jarvis was landing players of that caliber: Darius Miles, Omar Cook, and Lenny Cooke.

Got a combined one season and a punch delivered to an opponent's nads. What a recruiting haul that was.
Devastating how it turned out.

Here are the April, 2002 rankings from ESPN of that 2002 class:

#1 Melo
#2 Lenny Cooke
#18 Jason Fraser
#21 Daryll “Showtime” Hill
#24 Elijah Ingram

Jarvis got commitments from #2, #21, and #24. Pitino got commitments from #29 and #58. Jay Wright built the core of his Final Four team from this class.

Not as rosy a picture for Jarvis’s recruiting prowess as it may seem. Lenny Cooke had as much chance of qualifying for college eligibility as a new born baby just out of the womb and other schools knew good chance Darius Miles was going to turn pro. Who knows for sure if Jarvis would have gotten one or both absent those circumstances but I highly doubt it.

Jarvis era was a mess and the program has been trying to right the ship ever since. Rick has the ship right and rising at a fast level we have not seen since the excitement of landing Felipe and Zendon. Good things on our way.

Kiyan has potential and I think he has more potential than Bronny James. It all depends on how much work he puts in. Hes developing a shot, his footwork is getting better and hes getting stronger. He has a tendency of getting pushed around but he played in the CHSAA at a young age so that is a positive. Would have liked to have seen him stay at CtK but thats the dynamic of High School basketball.

Is there video proof that Melo said this? I only caught the 2nd half of the game so I didn't see it
