What college program will have a tough time overcoming this down season in recruiting?

Bossi: Looking across the landscape, South Carolina looks as if it has a tough road ahead. Justly or not, Darrin Horn's job has been the subject of rampant speculation and the Gamecocks are struggling on the floor and with their recruiting.

Meyer: Connecticut is in a dangerous position. There are a lot of questions about the coaching longevity of Jim Calhoun, concerns about team chemistry and the piling up of losses. Perhaps the name and brand of Connecticut will be enough to weather the storm, but there is also the strong possibility of an upcoming dry recruiting season.

Adding in their 2013 ban on postseason play.

Going to be tough for Calhoun to outrun this one. He almost didn't come back this season and ow with post-season ban for 2 seasons, back problems etc... I just don't see him being able to convince that he's here for more than a year or two.

Hopefully he is because he is such a competitor. A strong UCONN team is what the Big East wants.
When Looie left and St. John's was down other schools quickly saw how diminished the value was in
beating the Johnnies.  Same will hold with UCONN.

There are very few elite programs that are consistently in the top six. Things are cyclical and when a team gains momentum they can ride the wave for a few years. Providence, the Hall and us all had good years. USF is having a breakout year and has a solid cast of players back for next year, the question is can they sustain it. There's no doubt that 'nova will be back in a year or two.

I wouldn't have any problem with those arrogant yukon fans watching their program fall into mediocrity after Stutterin' Jim rides into the sunset. The BE will be just fine with them in the lower half of the conference.
