Butler, Wed. Feb. 28, 9pm, CBS SN / Radio TBD

Important to win this game and finish in 9th place hopefully. Some how we beat marquette or georgetown in the first game I much rather play xavier then nova the next day. Depaul's last two games are at Creighton and home Xavier. We have the tiebreaker.

Don’t see how we’ll beat Butler. Glad I said that. Maybe now, we’ll win!
Let’s go Johnnies.

I'll say if we lose by less than 10 I'll be happy. I said that for the Duke, Villanova and DePaul games but didn't for Marquette and Seton Hall. So, I hope we lose by less than 10.;)

We have become fans who pray that we can stay in games against our rivals not fans who say going into a game we can beat this team. ONLY WAY THAT WILL CHANGE IS RECRUITING HIGHER RATED PLAYERS. None of the top coaches would be where the are without high ranted players
coaching is a bit ove rated unless we are in a close game with equal talent than coaching moves become important PUT OUR CURRENT TEAM with Dukes coach we may get 2 more wins but he would still have a losing record jmo

Our current players beat Duke so that is a poor example. Granted Duke was playing with 4 freshmen but that game Shamorie was the best player on the floor. I'm sure Duke and coach K would have adjusted in a rematch though.

Just a reminder to those attending. Please arrive early for Senior Night, and the Mark Jackson Bobblehead giveaway.

Hi Manhattan - I tried to reply but I think my reply disappeared?
(maybe it was supposed to lol)
This year is what it is and was what is was...

Whether we get another W or not I accept 2017-18 for what it was - and clearly, as many have posted, the lack of a bench was probably the most significant drawback - with an extra body or two we would not have tired out at the end of several games including OTs to G'Town and Seton Hall.

Anyway I feel good about 2018-19 because we will have those extra bodies and it seems one or two will be productive.

Like many here I take the losses to heart - because I have a rooting interest and care about the team. And since SJU is my team by choice (as with my alma mater Army and the Yankees) I will stick with them through vital seasons and disappointing ones as we have just had,
I think of Joe B/WFAN "oh the pain" with his Mets and Jets - but he remains a fan and I think most on this board get it - The Red Storm is in our blood and maybe,
just maybe
next year will be brighter.
And criticize Chris Mullin, the staff or lack thereof, the players - one thing for sure - they are working hard and they want to win - probably as much or more than we do. And they have not given up. And neither will I and those who have SJU blood in their veins.
all the best :)

Yes,they did beat Duke. But if we played them 10 more times this yr they would beat us in 9 to of 10

Only one game that matters

Yea, this year we are 1-0 versus Duke.

Yep, and if 85 Villanova played Georgetown again , same thing. If 69 mets replayed the Orioles, same thing. Jets vs. Colts d and thing. And if you went to UCONN, well SJU wouldnt be losing much.

We have a great opportunity here. Psychologically it would nice not to finish in last place.

Let's beat Butler at home; payback for losing at their place.

I'd love to beat the Friars in Providence, wish I could go to that game and get some great Providence Italian food and a "W" for our Johnnies.

I want to go into the BET on a winning streak and hope to do some damage since we proved we can play with anybody.

Go Johnnies, let's beat Minko's Bulldogs.

If you get to the game early give a nice round of applause to our two Seniors who have been criticized on this board as much as Steve Lavin and Chris Mullin.

Amar - seems like he has been here forever. 15 points against Syracuse (2015-16 season). Only player on the roster to play in the tournament in a St. John's uniform.
Bashir - Tough kid from the Bronx who plays with his heart. 19 points against Duke. Averaged 12 and 5 in his two years here.

Neither player caused a problem and I wish them the best of luck.
