At the beginning of the GTown game we ran about 1/2 a dozen plays for Messina in the first 3 minutes, all of which successfully freed him for execellent looks. Yakwe had a beautiful drive to the basket, as did Ellison. For my money all three get major minutes today and Yakwe keeps taking the ball to the hoop with authority. We still lose, but if these three play well, we cover the spread - ok, also if Duran Duran plays well.

Most SJU games this season is like watching Miguel Perez vs. George the Animal Steele on a continuous loop. We get pummeled early, throw a few punches to get the crowd going, then get beat down soon after. I will be looking to see if Ellison can continue to get to the foul line off the dribble-drive. He may just have the right combination of size, fearlessness and awkwardness to be effective going to the hoop. I suspect Ellison hears the footsteps of the signees looking to limit his minutes. I think that will motivate him. Also looking for Yakwe to improve on the offensive end.

Hope he can get better at FT line.
