Butler Game

So no Obekpa, and we look this bad?
I really hope it`s a case of them looking to the nova game, and they wake up in the 2nd half.

As for Sanchez, he looks lost out there, and before this season, he was a legit nba prospect?
Guess the experts were dead wrong on him.
 
Hooper can't guard anybody man to man
He gets beat off the dribble all the time
With Butler playing tenacious man to man defense, he won't get a shot off
Why isn't Balamou playing? Isn't he sitting behind the bench in warmups?
He's got to be a better option ... or even Marco..... smh

I'm pretty sure they are going to try and get the redshirt back for Balamou because of his mother's illness.

I understand, but......
A. Who knows if he's eligible for consideration given the fact that he played
B. When you're fighting for an NCAA berth and you have a key player injured, you pull out all the stops to try to get in
C. The season would be an absolute failure if we didn't make the NCAA's amid all the pre-season hype, led by our coach
 
We have been getting beat off the dribble since the early season games against low majors. Most of our guys are just weak defenders on the perimeter who don't move their feet. Obekpa covered a lot of that up, but without him the chickens come home to roost (yup it's official chicken month). And we have established that we suck at zone (no comment on why) so we can't use that to keep teams out of the paint.

Since Sanchez is just a terrible defender (so much potential to his game, and such a disappointment) and Gift's talent doesn't match his effort, what's left is that Jakarr is going to have to play post D.

Or we could just press, trap and try to turn the game into a track meet and out-athlete Butler. That's probably what we'll do but Butler may be too smart to fall for that.

Even minus Obekpa and with the post-Georgetown letdown factor there's still no excuse to lose this game. Should be a 6-8 point win without Obekpa, should've been 12 or so with him.

I hope you meant the Namibian basketball association!
 
How many fouls does Samson have? Unfortunately Sheed and Dlo have played poorly. The only offensive factors has been Branch and Sampson.
 
Hard to figure out Sanchez. Seems completely lost at times, hoisting ill advised corner threes and getting beat on D. Our guards will have to take this one over. Penetrate & dish to Sampson or hit pull up jumpers. Forget threes Sheed, not there tonight.

I'd switch up the defense throughout the entire 2nd half, if I was the coaching staff.

Show a couple of different zones, as well, as some man. Throw some different looks at Butler, and make them uncomfortable.

He has 2 fouls
Four of our starters finished the first half with 2 fouls each
 
of course we could lose this...but.......considering butler looks great (no thanks to our poor play)...and we look bad....Jordan and Harrison sitting on bench last part of the half...and we are down only 3?...I think we are lucky...and in a good position to pull away and win this game.....but sanchez stupidity must be limited in 2nd half and hopefully Jordan, Harrison and Sampson don't pick up foolish early fouls

Granted i only saw half, of the half but noway does butler look great. they have 31 points on about 36% shooting. They are just getting to the line and killing us on the o-glass.

I see they are 12 out of 24 fg's......we are lucky they missed 8 ft....and yes they are killing us on the offensive glass

He's not hard to figure out
He was O-V-E-R R-A-T-E-D
His basketball IQ is very low for a 24 year old who allegedly had NBA potential
