Butler Game

Let's divert our energy from the Villanova thread to here. Must keep this roll going. Beat Butler on Tuesday.

We are...

Good job Tom. After I started my Butler thread, I saw yours posted a couple of minutes earler. You were the early bird, so you get the worm (thread cred).

Ok. So after we beat Butler, how much do you think we will beat Nova by? :p

Just kidding. Actually, Butler looks like a pretty weak team, although they did play Creighton close. If we were on the road, there might be a reason to worry (although we destroyed them at their place). At home, this should be an easy win. I can't imagine a big enough letdown for us to lose this game. Dlo's leadership and Sheed's playmaking ability won't let us down. We will be a double digit favorite and should cover.

Yes, and Providence beat us on our home court, so beating a downtrodden team at home should have been no problem, right? Expect no game to be an easy win. I'm certain Lavin reminds this team daily that they are on a mission, and should the season end today would do no better than NIT. Every game is like a single elimination tourney game, even if it appears we have one life to spare. One life and two road games - not an easy road still.

Beast, Providence is light years better than Butler right now. Also, when we lost to Providence, we were not playing anywhere close to where we are right now. Not a valid comparison.

I hope Branch will play against Butler. I know Lavin says he's expected to play. Since he's missed a couple of games, it would be good to see him back on the court again before our big game at Nova on Saturday.

Phil still drives me nuts at times!

We barely survived Seton Hall. Look past no one.

Could not agree more salty. And I'm not implying that Butler will be an easy win. Win or lose Tuesday night, I'd just like to see Branch get his "court legs" back before playing against a much better team in Nova.

words of advice..." Stay Hungry, Stay Humble". I always like when teams win and they interview the coach or player and they always give credit to the other team in some way. Interview of McDermott last night after a big win vs Nova and passing Larry Bird. He stated that Nova is a great team and that the Big East is really tough and has a lot of strong teams to still get through. When they mentioned passing Larry, the first thing out of his mouth was , if Larry Bird had a three point line he'd have a ton of more points than that. Classy kid. We are playing awesome, we are playing hungry, but we need to remain humble. If the players like the way these victories taste, just imagine the taste of the ones to come. GO JOHNNIES !!!!!

Never underestimate any of the BE teams. They all could knock you off on a given night. . We had everything going for us w SHU. They had just played Marquette ,lost home court advantage due to storm and didn't play w 2 starters. 1 game at a time.

Butler is seriously overdue. They've played a lot of tough basketball. Anything can happen but if our guards extend on their guards we should dominate. SHU was really disappointing in just about every way except the Win. Hopefully they learned from that and come out sharp.

Should be 10.5 pt favorites if I had to guess. I'd like to see us come out with energy like we have the past 5 games. It seems like every passing game we come away with "the best first half of the season" each time out (except SHU game) Let's keep that sort of momentum going.

No team has lost more heartbreaker/overtime games than Butler has this year. Granted many of those were at home but we cannot sleep on them. I think we will win but it wouldn't shock me if the final score is closer than the G'Town game.

I fear the weaker teams more.
The top teams we`ll always be up for.
There is always a possibility that we look past the bottom teams, especially with a top 10 team coming up next.

Gotta keep this ride going and make it 9 out of 10
