BT / WFAN

Thank goodness he's not on with Fatcessa
I'm sure the Diet Coke maven will jump on the SJU bandwagon soon
I am disgraced to have him as a fellow alum
With the platform at his disposal, he should be building up the program
He'd rather be in bed with Calhoun, Wright, etc.

like it or not, francessa gives us the most exposure because of the time slot he has. i wouldn't be surprised if he had lavin on sometime soon.

I agree, I bet Lavin is on this week leading up to the Gtown game. Mike will make it seem like he has watched the team all year, he still thinks Dlo is a point guard.

BT will be on Wfan at noon talking Johnnies.

Minko's call at the end of the game was great. BT added that the game was "a meat grinder". I wonder if he'll bring all his shoes and glasses with him.

He will bring them, just so he has them!

Good to see you posting again kid!!

Your last line is pretty accurate. It's all about personal relationships and becoming publicly a destructive voice because you were excluded from an inner circle. That is where I am most disappointed with one of the program's biggest fans. I am not a big fan of Lavin but I never watch a game half hoping we lose so the guy that did not accept my wine and cheese invitation gets fired. We had the same problem when Slice was the assistant at Pittsburgh. Hated Norm so much he preferred NYC players going to Pittsburgh.

I thought the interview was pretty fair. BT seems to have an objective assessment of the situation.

Summary of the talking points for those that did not hear would be nice.
BT said he thought the Redmen were a fun team. With no other local basketball options to speak of, he suggested checking them out. He said he felt they were a tournament team right now, and that they would be in the tournament.

BT said he had a relationship with Coach, and that Coach wants an extension. BT said Coach makes a lot of money and needs to deliver some results in order for that to happen. Said Coach has shown a lot of character by disciplining players on his own, despite coaching for his future with the school.

Felt that is was difficult to recruit players to Jamaica.

He thinks Dom is worthy of a late first round pick, and Phil Jackson should take notice.

Thinks UK will enter the tournament undefeated, Gonzaga is their biggest threat. Felt any other team would really need things to break their way in a game against UK (Wisconsin, Virginia, Duke - said Duke was not a classic Duke-caliber team).

That's it in a nutshell. If I missed anything or got something wrong, feel free to chime in, as I'm also working!

Spocky, I listened to the whole interview, and I say you got it spot on.

The one thing I found interesting is how little Joe B. knows about our program. He was asking BT questions about Kentucky and the NCAA Tournament in general. And when BT was praising Dom, Joe admitted that he hadn't seen him play much. I wish Evan Roberts was there. I think he's a bigger fan than Joe B. is.

I like Beningo but he seems more like a fan than a polished talk show pro and there is nothing the matter with that IMO. Expertise though he seems to be strictly pro sports, especially local teams.

Couldn't agree more, logen. I too like Joe B. for the very same reasons. It was just a little surprising to me how quickly he wanted to get off of discussing St. John's and onto the tourney and specifically Kentucky. But you're right; he does have more of a pro sports focus.

The Knicks will either have the 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft. As much as I enjoy Pointer, I am also a Knick fan so I sincerly hope Phil Jackson does not know who Pointer is.

Spurs or Clippers would be a good spot

Agree on the Knicks; he just wouldn't fit in because he pklays D. Spurs the best choice because they embrace different.

The NBA overall play has deteriorated substantially from its' heydays. KNICKS, Sixers,, Minn, Kings, CELTICS, ETC ARE REALLY NOT MUCH MORE THAN NBA development league talents..

How can anyone pay MSG game prices to watch that team play, especially, without Anthony?

I doubt Ticket prices have been reduced to watch them. Rangers on the other hand are playing well and making a run towards Playoffs again.

Well yeah, but also becuase no matter how great he is playing, he is not a 1,2 or#3 pick. I can see if he keeps this run up sneaking into 1st round.

Actually since he reminds me of Draymond Green and they will probbaly lose him to FA, Warriors would be a great spot as well

Wright will be on with Francessa later today. Do you work for Psychic Friends Network?
