Ponds needs to step it up. He was barely noticeable in first half. Hate to say it, but we are already at a moment of truth and it's only our second game. Time to show what we're made of. Let's go Johnnies!
 
Johnnies will win, but a few lessons learned obviously. They are not good enough to coast on D. Just horrible st closing out on shooters.
 
Bowling Green has figured out the St. John's 3 point defense. They know exactly who their wide open shooter is going to be because we play Ole' defense. As with every Mullin team no offensive rebounding unless the ball bounces directly into the hands of a St. John's player. No inside game whatsoever as Keita injured in first half.
Second half will tell us a lot.
 
Coaches need to get these guys to play d though. They don’t look
Like they even know how to switch. We are leaving guys wide open. Defense is learned and effort. No doubt it’s in our guys. They don’t seem to want to move their feet nor know where to go. I have zero doubt that the talent is here to make a big run. We just never seem prepared entering the season. I know we will hit a big stride as competition ups and we have more games. Just wish we could come out stronger and we also can’t afford to lose this one. Defend and take good shots and it’s an easy win. BG isn’t that good...

Ponds is projected to be a first round pick, and you don't think he will be drafted? Will you share whatever it is you are smoking?
 
All these athletes and only 4 free throws in first half. Don't think we had any against Loyola. When our guys drive, it's going up whether there is a shot there or not. Not showing discipline on offense or defense. Troubling.
 
Next 3-4 minutes huge. We will see if this team is tough or not. No sign of it so far.
 
To many half-arsed shots. Sloppy on both sides of the court. We need somebody to take charge on the floor. Do we have a point guard?

I’m not getting how Ponds can smoke guys like Gary Trent Jr., and then put up these performances. At this point he’ll be back as a senior...
 
Does bandana boy have any eligibility after this year ?

Maybe we can get him to transfer here
