Boston Unsealed Indictments/ Georgetown
I believe Sean Hannity's son plays on the Wake Forest Tennis team. Also Beast, the contributions you mentioned are considered back door by the guy running this scheme and are "legal" as the school doesn't "have to take" those students in. This was called side door.

At least in basketball the players get paid as well.
Correct about Hannity's son.

Jay Bilas's son in on the basketball team at Wake (or he was, since he's a senior, and their season ended today).

I guess what makes athletics so ripe for improprieties is that for secondary sports coaches don't travel the country to recruit second line players and often rely on news clippings and videos. A large number of players who are admitted as athletes legitimately never play a sport and many end of bench athletes quit after one season. That scenario makes the whole take a bribe to get someone admitted as an athlete so compelling. So many athletes in these sports never see action and so many are recruited without anyone seeing them play.

Two of my kids played with elite AAU basketball programs, and a number of D2 teams contacted them by mail about their interest in coming to their school, and a few very good academic schools scoured applications and then wrote my kid asking if she was interested in playing varsity bball. This was all without ever having seen them play and came from rosters of HS teams, AAU teams, and participation in showcase tournaments.

Auburn assistant Ira Bowman has been suspended due to an investigation into a bribery scheme from his time at Penn under former Quakers head coach Jerome Allen, per release.
