Boeheim Calls Andy Katz Idiot At Press Conference

It's nice to see the whiny, bratty Boeheim that we know and hate resurface. all because his team jsut lost a game is should have won, and because Andy Katz called the school out on the Souderland situation.

I's used the word idiot all too much in the past when I'm upset with someone, and in certain exchanges, especially in business disputes. On occasion based on the response from the person the insult was hurled at, I found just how offensive a word it is.

Boeheim has had it his way for so long up in Syracuse, even slithering clear of any blame in the Bernie Fine fiasco, that he obviously thinks he is beyond reproach.

Never thought I say, "Good for Andy Katz."
 
The last paragraph in the first linked article speculates that Boeheim's reference to Mr. Katz as an "idoit" is in response to comments Katz wrote about the culture of basketball at Syracuse during the Bernie Fine investigation.

The second linked article is a 2011 article which Katz wrote about Boeheim, Fine and the culture of the SU basketball program under Boeheim.

We don't know the history of the two. If he reported off the record info I would be ticked as well. I wouldn't call him an idiot I would ignore him and never give him access to the program again.
 
Actually think Andy Katz is very fair. If you tell a person of the media something "off the record ", your a fool to begin with. Boeheim is the real idiot. Goes on the attack if anyone questions his program.....Even though they are a strong program, they cant get to the ACC fast enough for me....
 
Andy Katz reply of "last time I checked I didn't work for Syracuse" was both funny, on target, and showed just how foolish JB was being without name calling. Good show Andy.
 
Jim Boeheim is the very last person who should be calling someone disloyal.

Football only. Boeheim spoke out last year and said he wanted to stay Big East.
 
I am almost sad (that is drenched with sarcasm) that Boeheim is leaving the BE. I have despised that man longer than anyone else in college basketball (with now retired Calhoun) a distant second. The first games I remember go back to the Gilroy/McKoy/Russell era and i remember a few things from those times but what I remember is I have despised Boeheim since those days and that has never changed (even when I stole his 2-3 zone from my middle school team.) I am not sure who I am going to not like anymore. It was always Boeheim, Calhoun, Ewing (Gtown years only) and Scoonie Penn (still not sure why but his name still grates on my nerves.) I am ok with this though. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out Jimmy.

You really don't remember why Scoonie Penn still gets on your nerves....this may refresh your recollection

 
Hypocritical might come to mind, if Lavin defended his player and his school the way Boeheim did with Katz, everyone on this board would be all over Katz for doing what he did and behind Lavin for doing what he did. I believe this. Let's all relax. When Parcells or Coughlin or Torts takes on the "arrogant" press, the fan of that particular team backs the coach, especially someone with the success of JB.

I'm not saying, I'm JUST SAYIN'.

Boeheim was one of the strongest and most visible and vocal supporters of the BE for years and years, whenever the BE got snubbed, he was the first to stand up and confront the issue.

If he had his way nothing about Syracuse leaving the BE would have happened. We all know this was FB and $$$, not BB and certainly not Boeheim.

Unlike JC, JB didn't taunt ST. John's when we were down. If I remember he usually had good stuff to say about us.

Have to agree with this. Jim B, like him or not, the man enjoyed the Big East more than anything else and if he had his way, the conference would still be together. Still, he is a "professional" and it never reflects well when you resort to name calling, although we've all heard worse from other coaches.
 
Calhoun was also a bully in spirit of JB. Here he "patiently" explains to press why he did not recruit Ryan Gomes. Glad we have a class act like Lavin, not perfect, but a decent guy.
