Bobblehead night a sellout

The truth is SGA promotions work in attracting more sponsors & young fans to game
everyone likes getting the freebie w a ticket

Since you worked for the Mets, suggest a promotion that woudl get those in seatback chairs to fill their section. My guess is that it was 60% empty when the game started, and probably 30% empty the entire game. It would be nice (and louder) if there was a way for season ticket holder to turn in their unused seats on game day to be sold to the general public, with maybe something coming back to the ticket holder.

If the setback seat holders cant show up they should give their seats away I agree
I agree as well. How do you get the seatback seats? I am sick of sitting in the most uncomfortable seats created watching them play lifeless teams like South Florida, looking at an embarrassing video board that does not even show replays and listening to the worst sound system ever while watching the dance team. Since I go to all the games I want at least one thing to look forward to, sitting in the lap of luxury in a seat back. I am guessing I can't afford it though since many people that have those tickets seem to have so much money they are willing to throw it away by wasting their tickets.

There is zero doubt that giveaways i.e. t-shirts, bobbleheads, hats, etc. will increase attendance. No doubt. America loves free stuff...that t-shirt or bobblehead could be the difference in maybe going and definitely going. If they gave out t-shirts at MSG games I guarantee you attendance would be bigger. The last blackout night was HUGE and everyone had their shirts on. They need to do that more.

was at the game last night. was great to see everybody and hear louies halftime speech. got the bobble. before tip there was some confusion and coach stepped on the floor to speak to the refs for a few seconds. i noticed sir dom was still sitting on the bench while everyone else was on the floor. guys on the bench were muffling their laughter. then i saw an assistant run across the floor from the locker room. sir dom forgot to put his jersey on. once had it on, he went out and quietly gathers an almost triple double again. good win.

anybody see this?

we need two more wins. and then two more.

The same exact thing with the jersey happened earlier this year to Balamou I think. Forget what game it was.

Actually it happened to Dom before. Down in Charleston. Murray State or Charleston forgot which one game. He didn't start but Lav went to sub him and he had no jersey.

Walt Frazier was the poster boy for the epitome of cool, no matter what the game situation. What most fans don't know is that for his very first varsity game, he was so nervous, that when the coach callto him to go in an he peeled off his sweats, he had forgotten his shorts and was wearing only a jock. True story. Hasty retreat to locker room.

Not to castigate them, because let's say you have to have donated at least very solidly $$$$$, with many fans owning those seats have donated much more. Many have hefty job responsbilities, hence they drifted in after 7 pm, and many cant make CA games very often.

CA is one of the most bare, uncomfortable, non-luxurious Big East arenas standing if not THE worst. Wish we could get a nice new place with padded seatbacks, nice big videoboards with replay as you said, much better and bigger student sections, and much closer to the court instead of built 1 mile into the air. When you look at the places other teams play they look so much more luxurious and professional than CA.

couldnt agree with you more, i fee like the way they "remodeled" it was the cheapest and non innovative way possible, and you can easily tell. they should have gutted the whole thing, and started over.

billy shaeffer said" 'the pitt' was the toughest road arena he ever played at"

I think the remodel cost between 10 and 20 million. The only way that stuff gets done (new arena) is if lots of alumni donate a lot of money earmarked for it. You can complain, but unless you are part of the solution....

If the remodel cost between 10 and 20 million then either someone stole or wasted a lot of money. The donors that gave money for the basketball program and/or the remodel should be pissed at the result and think about suing. Maybe the funds were diverted and used for the gym and other areas that we don't see but there is not one good thing about the basketball court/stands area of the arena except for the name.

"unless you are part of the solution..."

Well excuse me that I'm not Bill Gates. These projects are not the kind that the average Joe's (pun intended) can fund. This is the kind of thing that would take guys like Mullin, Artest, Franco, etc. to do the heavy work financially. We need a nice comfortable arena with much more creativity and less "typical gym" feel. The student sections need to be expanded so it can include ALL students, not just season ticket holders. It will also make the place way louder and give us more of a home feel. Get a new scoreboard...that one on the wall is something you see in MAAC gyms from the 1980's. I say this a lot but incorporate the skyline...make a giant silhouette above the new scoreboard with red lights around it...think Shea Stadium's old light up skyline. Get a nice new court and make it creative...Long Beach has palm trees worked into theirs, Oregon has that crazy mud worked into theirs, etc. the point is, it's possible to be way more creative. We also need the seats like a true bowl built low and close around the court, not far away and high up.
