Bobblehead night a sellout

hopefully the st.j's tic & athletic dept continue to have these bobblehead nights w all the legends
it packed the house ag. south florida not a normal big draw a great promotion

its a quality made collectible thanks to coke for sponsoring the giveaway looks like 85 Louie

I disagree. The crowd would have been just slightly less or maybe the same without the bobblehead giveaway. Our late-season Big East games on campus are normally sold out or close to it even in down years. Last year vs. Depaul on a weekday night in late February had 5110 people there. In 2010 against Seton Hall on a weekday night in February there were 5519 people in attendance. I do feel having a legends night each year, or at least every few years, would be a cool thing.

ok you think giveaways dont help attendence then why does the NY yankees have so many than?

Giveaways work otherwise the Yankees would not have them its about time st.js upgraded the promotions

Collectible Bobbleheads of Louie r already 4 sale on ebay for $30 plus shipping
One sold for $49

I worked for the Ny Mets from 1984-92 & SGA days were biggest sellouts after opening day & fireworks nite

Bob Mandt St.J's grad was my boss & he worked the Ticket promotions starting in 1962 & always said they brought alot of more people to the park when he gave me the daily mets report.

St.J's should do a st.js Nike gymbag next yr that would sell bigtime

It would help more if we did it at MSG or against a mid-major team. Last nights game would have been sold out or close to sold out regardless of the giveaway.

Actually when compared to smaller market teams Yankees probably have a lot less than most. The difference between a regular Tuesday night Yankee game and a Tuesday giveaway is inconsequential. More factors like weather, opponent and age restrictions on the giveaway impact. Also its usually baked into corporate sponsors as a way for them to latch on. Like Coke last night.

The truth is SGA promotions work in attracting more sponsors & young fans to game
everyone likes getting the freebie w a ticket

Since you worked for the Mets, suggest a promotion that woudl get those in seatback chairs to fill their section. My guess is that it was 60% empty when the game started, and probably 30% empty the entire game. It would be nice (and louder) if there was a way for season ticket holder to turn in their unused seats on game day to be sold to the general public, with maybe something coming back to the ticket holder.

If the setback seat holders cant show up they should give their seats away I agree

I'm under the impression that the sponsor pays for the entire giveaway.

Did Marco throw one down last night? I see the photo in your avatar, but I watched only half the game from my iphone.

Yeah at the very end he got the ball all alone and slammed it in.

Next year let's have Gene Keady bobblehead night

was at the game last night. was great to see everybody and hear louies halftime speech. got the bobble. before tip there was some confusion and coach stepped on the floor to speak to the refs for a few seconds. i noticed sir dom was still sitting on the bench while everyone else was on the floor. guys on the bench were muffling their laughter. then i saw an assistant run across the floor from the locker room. sir dom forgot to put his jersey on. once had it on, he went out and quietly gathers an almost triple double again. good win.

anybody see this?

we need two more wins. and then two more.

The same exact thing with the jersey happened earlier this year to Balamou I think. Forget what game it was.

Actually it happened to Dom before. Down in Charleston. Murray State or Charleston forgot which one game. He didn't start but Lav went to sub him and he had no jersey.
